The mirror arrived five hours ago and was superbly packaged. During the time between ordering and arriving, I had forgotten that I had ordered a GLOSSY Black Beveled Mirror, as was clearly noted in the product description It certainly has a high-gloss finish (but will work well in my foyer.) It was weighty so I referred back to the product description. The weight wasn't noted on the main page but found it in the download exhibit under "Click here" for additional product details where it was described at the bottom of the schematic as 51.5 pounds (net). That felt too high to me so perhaps another buyer can write in with the actual weight or a prospective buyer could pose the question directly to Overstock. Nonetheless, I'd suggest erring on the side of caution when selecting mounting hardware -- I'm not sure if nails in drywall would be the correct long-term solution as mentioned by one reviewer. A wire wouldn't be the best way to hang this mirror (as suggested by another reviewer) both from appearance and weight distribution standpoints. Re-reading the reviews, I see that there have been issues with the levelness of the mounting brackets on the back of the mirror. I haven't checked mine, but am now reminded to do so before drilling holes in my lath & plaster. Finally, and not related to the actual product, I was having a glitch in getting a discount code reflected on the price in my Cart. The Overstock Customer Service person advised me to go ahead and place the order and he would apply the discount after the fact. While I was somewhat dubious, everything worked out as promised. Fine service! Attractive mirror! Good price! Happy camper!Read More
I was very impressed by the way this mirror was packed to ship. It was surrounded by a lot of foam and then it was screwed to pieces of plywood so it wouldn't get damaged in transit. It looks perfect in the bathroom where were mounted it.Read More
This mirror is modern and better than expected quality. However, I agree with other reviewers that the hooks are not even--it took a couple nail holes to get it to hang evenly. A minor hassle and worth it, since the mirror looks great. Can be hung horizontally or vertically. This was significantly less expensive than similar mirrors, so we are happy with it.Read More
The mirror looks great just what we were looking for. Very happy with our purchise.Read More
I was very excited to receive this mirror. The best part is that I know this design is very unique, so it's not just sitting on the shelf at your nearest big-box store. It's modern, unique, and well-made.Read More
You assume from the photo, though its unclear, that the outside border area "floats" and does not have a solid backing behind it. This is the case. Here's where the problem come in. Because of this design, you cannot hang this like a conventional wall mirror. If you use picture hanging wire, it will show through the "cut out" area. You have to drill two seperate screws into the wall. And getting these to line up so that the mirror hangs perfectly level is a real challenge. It took me nearly two hours to mount the mirror properly on the wall. What's worse, the hanging hooks on the mirror I received were screwed into the mirror on the back and off by neary 3/4" from one another. Sloppy workmanship. I had the option of either re-mounting the hanging hooks so they lined up evenly or compensating by where I put the screws into the wall. Just an additional hassle. The actual plate glass mirror itself is not all that large and I'm not certain the overall quality justifies the price paid. I'll have to give it some points for uniqueness, however.Read More
The mirror is an interesting shape and of good quality. It looks nice on my fireplace. The only knock against it is that the hangers on the back were not properly aligned, so I had to remove and reattach one of them so it would hang level.Read More
I found these mirrors at a local lighting/decor store but were not in stock. I ordered them from Overstock.com on a Saturday and received them on the following Wednesday. mirrors came in perfect condition and I couldn't be more pleased with them. I was looking for something with an asian feel and this works great or in my opinion would be good for any theme. to top it all off I saved about $60.00 per mirror. I'm a happy camper.Read More
The mirror was back very securely. Not hard to hang at all. Looks great in the bedroom where it is hung.Read More

Best Baby Gifts for a Newborn
Newborn gifts range from the useful and practical to the whimsical and luxurious. When selecting a baby gift for a newborn, you may be wondering how to choose something unique that won't be like all the other presents at a baby shower. To find the best newborn baby gift, consider what you know about the baby and the lifestyle of the parents and consider gifts that the parents truly want. Toys. Baby toys always make good gifts for newborns. Even if the toys won't be played with right away, parents can use them to provide stimulatory experiences and items such as rattles, stuffed animals, soft blocks and musical mobiles all provide the developing baby with learning opportunities. Books. Children can never have too many books. Reading to and with a little one can help them develop language skills and imaginative qualities. Many parents start reading to baby from day one and find that it is a valuable bonding experience. Any baby book with a simple, clean layout, contrasting visuals and short, straightforward text makes a good choice. Look for touch-and-feel books, pop-up books and books with mirrors, which are all fun for babies. Blankets. Keep baby warm and comfortable with a soft blanket. A luxury blanket made of cashmere or silk can be a nice change from other gifts and will probably become a family treasure. Blankets that have been embroidered with the baby's name or initials are also a unique newborn baby gift. Baby blankets that have been folded into the shape of a cake or other decorative item are fun to give on their own or as part of a gift basket. Larger items. Many parents find that they simply can't afford to purchase all of the baby gear that they really want. If you are looking for a newborn baby gift that will impress, then you might consider purchasing a larger item, such as a swing, a rocking chair or a video baby monitor. Surprise the mom-to-be in your group of friends with something she has been wanting by gifting something expensive with several other people. LCD TVs vs Plasma TVs
Flat-screen TVs seem to be everywhere. For you, the choice may seem like a toss-up between plasma TVs and LCD TVs. These competing technologies each have advantages, so it's important to consider your specific needs before purchasing a flat-screen TV. If you are highly knowledgeable, you may want to consider the more technical specifications of LCD and plasma TVs. This is a fast-moving technology, so the advantages of each technology may soon even out with one another. Until then, here are some facts that may help you with the choice between plasma and LCD TV technology. Price differences. While price is important, it doesn't tell the whole story when comparing LCD and plasma. In the past, plasma TVs were slightly less expensive than LCD TVs of the same size, and the price differential became greater as the size of the television increased. The gap in price has narrowed between flat-screen technologies, though. Price is probably the least important factor, especially since you can find good deals on both plasma TVs and LCD TVs. Use. How you use your TV matters. Plasma TV screens are prone to "burn-in," a problem in which still or static images can be more or less permanently imprinted on the screen. This is of particular concern if you play video games, which tend to display static images for long periods of time in the same location on the screen. Fortunately, newer plasma TVs are less vulnerable to burn-in. If you plan to use your flat-screen TV for video games or other static images, LCD TVs may be a better choice. Environmental considerations. LCD TVs use an average of one-third to one-half as much energy as a plasma TV of the same size. The difference comes from the different lighting technologies. If you are concerned about your energy consumption, LCD is a greener choice. As technology improves, plasma TVs may improve their energy consumption. Lifespan. When early models of LCD TVs and plasma TVs were compared, LCD had the longer lifespan. But plasma technology has improved, and plasmas now boast a lifespan equal to LCDs. Most flat-screen TVs claim around a 60,000-hour lifespan. Depending on your usage, this means your flat-screen TV should last 20 years or more. The only parts of an LCD TV that wear out are the bulbs that illuminate the LCD screen. On a plasma TV, the bulbs will also go out before the screen does. Size and weight. LCD TVs are typically much lighter and less bulky than plasma TVs of the same size. Plasma TVs use glass for their screens, which is heavier and more fragile than the plastic used for LCD TVs. When mounting a large flat-screen TV on a wall, use a flat-screen TV mount and be sure that the wall can support your TV's weight. Picture. Both LCD TVs and plasma TVs produce amazing high-definition picture quality. Plasma TVs typically display blacks more clearly and show crisper detail during fast-moving programming, like sporting events. LCD TV technology is catching up, though, and LCD TVS usually offer greater native screen resolution than plasma TVs. This means more pixels per square inch, for a sharper overall picture. LCD TVs can lose picture quality when viewed at an angle. Some models do better than others on this, so be sure to do your research on any LCD TV's viewing angles.
