It looks nice, and functions as a lamp. Whodathunk? The only real issue with it is that it was somewhat troublesome to assemble. Now, I'm the DIY home improvement type who built elaborate erector set concoctions as a kid, so don't assume that I might a few fries short of a happy meal when it comes to this kind of stuff. The main issue were the thread on the pole and surrounding the bulb socket. I still have yet to get them all to seat properly. And, forget about using that lever to lower / raise the lamp. There's just not enough room withing the stand itself to allow the wires to move freely. They'll just bunch up. Thankfully for me, I have it in the corner of my bedroom and I never touch it (I have it wired to a light switch). So it works perfectly for me.
I've been searching for a simple floor lamp that isn't *** for months, so when I found this simple yet modern lamp I was ecstatic! It arrived within a week (bonus!) and as soon as I started opening the box, my smile faded. The styrofoam was a nightmare - breaking apart all over. I got all the pieces out of the box and started assembling - pretty easy except the threading on the pole didn't match up, so the pieces never fit together tightly and kept spinning. Not to mention one of the end posts pieces got lodged inside the pole as it wasn't the right size and not glued properly. Needless to say it's now sitting in it's box, as living in the city doesn't make it easy to return things. Ugh.
I believed the previous reviews which sounded great. However, mine was a dud. When the lamp arrived there were two major issues: the threads on the middle pole were nowhere near long enough to screw into the lowest pole. If you felt inside the lower pole, you could feel the threads were a good 1/2" - 3/4" deep, whereas the corresponding threads on the middle pole were only about 1/4". There was NO way the two poles could ever be secured properly without danger of the entire lamp falling apart! And since the poles were quite hefty, it posed a danger to pets and humans alike, if you even so much as moved the lamp an inch or two (and forget trying to pick it up to move). As well, the base where the lamp shade sits was crooked, so there would also have been no way to get the shade on straight (even if you didn't mind living with a pole that could easily fall apart). Because of these two defects, I'm returning the lamp. It's a shame too, as it was otherwise sturdily constructed and a nice, clean look.
I need a nice low-key lamp for the corner of my bedroom. Something that looked good, did not take up too much space, and had nice ambient lighting. This lamp fits the bill. It looks cool (very simple style) and is easy to assemble. I really like it a lot.
These lamps were very easy to assemble! I love the shade! It is white with a nice texture to it that makes it look so much more expensive. Depending on what type of bulb you use, the color of the shade can appear to be more ivory when the lamp is on. I love that it has adjustable height. It's the tallest floor lamp I've seen in this price range.
