This rug pad is more than adequate for using on our hard surface floor for our rug. I thought it was a little expensive for a rug pad but maybe that is the normal price.
I recently purchased a wool area rug from Overstock whick I love and I wanted to protect it. I read other reviews on this rug pad and agree with them. This pad is great. It is thick and firm so I know it will last a long time. Great value, would recoommend.
I placed this pad under one of my favorite area rugs. It must be my dog's favorite rug too as she relieved herself three times on it in one evening. The pad kept the urine off the wood floor and prevented damage. I ordered a new pad as I did not feel comfortable washing and reusing it. :)

This is the best rug pad, I have one for all my carpets. They make an expensive carpet extra plush and a joy to walk on. This particular rug pad we bought for a cheap rug in the home office and it transformed the rug entirely. I would not hesitate to recommend this pad!
