after nearly a month of rain, my whole house felt moldy and damp. I have moved this little unitall over the house, and it really does a good job of pulling the excess moisture out of the air. I roll it from room to room each day. Recommend this item.
The most quiet running dehumidifier I have ever had. A small energy efficient unit that was economically priced. The only drawback is, that when the power goes off, the unit has to be turned back on and the humidity level reset, manually.
it's a great dehumidifier, the noise it makes when working is not bad at all. I've been using it for half year now, it never had problems. it's basically all automatic and I don't need to worry about the water tank full or the degree setting. I loved it.
If you're looking for a really really good, solid, sturdy, EnergyStar portable dehumidifier for your home this one is IT!Pull it out of the box by its handle, take the packing tape off of it from around the water door, plug it in, and set the humidity level you want...it's that easy!! There is an indicator on the front of the unit that lets you know how much water has accumulated in the container and, once full, the unit automatically shuts itself off until the container is emptied and replaced.It's on wheels, too, so it's super easy to move it from room to room if you want. I have a two-story home, so both the top handle for carrying, and the wheels, come in handy.I've had mine for a week now. The humidity level in my house was so high I needed a dehumidifier badly. I plugged it in, set the controls for 35% humidity, and set it in my kitchen first. Within a few hours the water container was full and the atmosphere in that room had drastically improved. I've since been moving it from room to room each day and then I plan to do the basement.This has been the smartest and best purchase I've made here on Overstock by a longshot!And just an FYI, running a dehumidifier set at 30% humidity level or less constantly for a week in a bedroom will kill off any insect pests you might have, including bed bugs! I don't have an insect problem at all but I do know this. Insects thrive in high humidity because that is how they acquire the moisture needed to survive. Get rid of their atmospheric water supply and you get rid of THEM! It is the cheapest, most organic way to rid your home of unwanted pests! :)
I've had it running for only three days now and so I can't give a conclusive answer to how good the product is. However, over this time, I have no complaints and am very pleased with the dehumidifier. It is easy to operate and to empty the water.
