Ah, such luxury and, of course, designed in Italy. This is an elegant light used to create ambiance and not meant for reading some stuffy book! This light is soft and inviting and looks supreme on a dark surface surrounded by candles and such. I call it my "mood" light as it does stir the senses. If you are a tactile person, you will find the smooth and slightly rippled surface enticing.

I have this lamp in two sizes next to each other on the end of a very long bedroom chest. The larger one is closer to the wall and the smaller is a couple of inches to the left and forward. It gives off a wonderful glow. Not for major lighting but perfect for atmosphere.

i wanted a soft light for my bedroom and a plug-in-the-wall night light wasn't going to cut it. This lamp gives off a decent amount of light, without making you squint your eyes. good for ....entertaining people. har har har.
