Excellent quality-solid, beautiful quality , really attractive desk. the only problem is the assembly. i looked at teh instructions and realized i needed professional help. it took a hired person over 4 hours to assemble the desk and even he was frustrated. great desk but be warned this is not an easy assembly.

Best combination of value, quality and nice design we could find. The drawers provide great storage (didn't like the computer tray that flip down on most center drawers). The price is outstanding for the quality - solid wood construction is terrific. However, it does take some effort to assemble - but the extra effort resulted in a VERY sturdy desk. No wobbling or loose fitting legs/parts. The hutch on top is very nice and provides extra storage. I opted not to attach it to the desktop, allowing me to shift it offcenter to make space for my home phone - put my computer screen on top and the height is OK - not too tall. Some of the comments mentioned that the desk is too high given the height of the drawers and desktop. I am 5'11" and found it to be perfect. My wife is 5' 2" and can use it quite comfortably as well.Overall EXCELLENT buy; we couldnt be more pleased - very high quality product at very good price!

The desk came quickly, was well packaged and assembled easily. After two weeks I have had no issues with the desk, and am pleased with its appearance. I also purchased the plymouth bookcase, which I would review similarly. All excellent product.

It took me a while to get around to putting my desk together but I am very happy with it. I love the solid wood. The only thing that I will change is to purchase the fittings that will allow me to make the center desk into a keyboard holder and the drawer pulls. The pulls that came with it are OK but I want something a little different for my decor.

This is a great desk....sturdy and better than the picture. It took about 2hours to put together myself, but it wasn't as bad as i anticipated. Everything was carefully labeled. So, if you follow the insutrcution, it should go smoothly.

This thing is 2inches too high to be a desk. My boyfriend had to cut 2 inches off the legs in order to use it comfortably with a computer. What the heck!

Great value for the price. The shipping was fast. The desk did take quite a while to put together, but the instructions were easy to follow. It looked beautiful once it was all done. I would reccommend this desk to anyone.

I must admit it took my husband & I several hours to put this desk together; however it was worth it. I am happy with the purchase. It is a nice looking desk for the money. The only problem we had was with the top piece ( small hutch) that sits on top of the table. The instructions call for drilling holes to the table to attach that piece; however we opt not to do this. It has not been a problem to just place it on the desk unattached.

I used the Plymouth Desk as a vanity table in my dressing room......which was a suggestion from your description of the product on the OVERSTOCK website. Using it as a vanity I found the size to be perfect and the style is simplistic. I installed the pulls as diamond shapes to change the look a little. Putting it together was a little tedious and I had to have someone else finish it for me. I am happy with the workmanship, price and style of this product and would recommend this desk/vanity to others. I also loved the storage piece that is on the top of the desk, which my cat sits on and looks out the window!

This is a very nice sturdy desk. My husband is very handy at putting things together, and all he said was "there 's lots of pieces". Even though we measured the area for this desk, we were still suprised at how large it really is. Keep this in mind when you are thinking of purchasing, this desk has presence. If you think it may be to large for your area based on the measurements, you should really think it through. Having said that, if you know it will fit your area just fine then no worries! It is a great desk!

I'm so glad I ordered this desk and found out how wonderful rubberwood really is! Why invest in pressboard when you can have REAL WOOD for the same price! Honestly, this desk is gorgeous - like something you'd find in a high-end furniture store! It is truly solid and heavy! Yes, it comes totally unassembled and you need to invest about 3 hours in its assembly. However, you do not need to be an engineer to be successful! I'm a pre-school teacher, my youngest is 11-years-old. Between the two of us - VOILA! I also agree with the previous reviewer who decided NOT to permanently affix the top set of drawers to the top surface of the desk. Small rubber feet are all you need - there is enough weight to the top set of drawers so that they will not move around. Do not hesitate to purchase this product. Once again, thank you, Overstock, for yet another fabulous product!

Once put together, this desk looks great with a nice, sleek finish, (just wish they sent someone else to put it together!) When the two boxes arrived, I had to open them and move the pieces down to my lower level of the house a couple at a time. A couple pieces are heavy and the one box was just too much for one person to lug down the stairs. It took me probably 2.5 hours total to put the desk together on my own. The directions were tough to decipher at times. Putting this desk together is most definitely a two man job! Overall, the desk was a good buy and looks good. I just crab about how long it took me to put together!

The desk was a good value. It took a while to put together and at times somewhat difficult but all in all worth the time. The color was exactly what was stated espresso brown. Dark, not black but a shade under. Perfect for what I was looking for. I hope I can find additional pieces that match in the future. Good buy!

Other than the drawers (particle board bottoms), the piece is very solid... much heavier than I expected. It is a good size desk. It is as, maybe more, attractive than the picture. I thought assembly was straight forward. I find it helpful to lay out all of the parts and to identify what they are and more or less how they fit together. All of the different screws, fasteners, etc. are bagged separately and numbered corresponding to the directions. I spent under two hours assembling it by myself. I used a power drill to install most of the screws, being careful not to over tighten. Rather than attach the top section of the desk, I had some small stick on rubber bumpers that I put one the bottom of it. They keep it from slipping very nicely without having to screw through the surface of the desk to secure it. This way the desk could be used without the top piece.

This is an elegant, sturdy and practical piece. The design is clean and capacity to hold many desk- related items is terrific. I was fortunate to have a friend with assembly skills put my desk together. The instructions were not fully accurate and some screws needed metric tools to be adequately tightened. It took about 6 hours to assemble. My advice would be to get help if you are not very good at putting furniture together. The desk is solid and quite heavy. All this said, once the desk is together it is quite stunning.

Great value! The desk is 55-1/2" wide - we bought two to fit against one wall in our study. The small top measures 8-1/2" deep (drawers are 7" deep measuring from interior of the drawer) - depth of main open area of desktop is 19-1/2" deep (measured to the beginning of the upper box), so lots of room for a workspace (overall desk depth is 28" - including the smaller box on the main desk). Main desktop drawer depth is 15", so room for some files or paperwork (drawer is about 2" interior height). My monitor, speakers, rolodex, joystick all fit on top of upper box with lots of room left. Note these measurements as they are not shown in the online specs. I think you could easily modify the main desk drawer to open as a keyboard drawer (by adding hinges), but is comes as a regular drawer. The middle top and main desk drawers are much wider than the side drawers. Really finishes off our office nicely. Now we have a place to put our papers and supplies (six drawers in all). Almost black in color (it is an espresso brown). Took a few hours to put it all together but not too hard and well worth it. Just take your time - there are areas not premarked for the screws, so be sure to measure placement (mainly placement of the top box and screwing it to the main desktop). Compared to other items (storage and looks) and prices locally, this was quite the deal and very, very nice. Everything in our study now looks clean and organized!!
