These book shelves are so beautiful. I bought two for my living room and just love them. I get many compliments. The color of the wood, the finish is very elegant and they are very well put together. The quality is better than I had even hoped for. I was very surprised how nice these were. The only thing to be aware of is these are tall - about the height of my doorway. I would absolutely but more of these if I had a bigger house :) what an amazing purchase. Overstock rocks!!

It was one of the easiest pieces of furniture to assemble. It has just a few pieces, they all fit together painlessly. The shelf is just as big as it says on the website, it looks nice, shelves are deep enough to hold books and place some "memorabilia" in front of the books. Overall, very positive experience.

I ordered two of these bookcases as I have a great many books. They are solid and heavy, but that is what I wanted. We might not have gotten the screws in tight enough as we assembled them in the bedroom where they were to stay and when we lifted them up, I noticed a slight gap between the shelf and the end piece. I put the books on them anyway and so far so good. They look expensive and beautiful, plus they hold hundreds of books! The company provided extra hardware in case we lost some I guess, that was nice. It is best to have someone strong to help you assemble this bookcase.

Though the instructions on this piece were not too clear and we had to build and rebuild it, the unit turned out in the end. I am pleased with the sturdiness and look of this bookshelf. It fits nicely in our formal dinning room.

I bought two of these bookcases for my study. They went together fairly quickly, considering I put them together alone. Assembly could take under an hour with more than one person working on the project. I think they will last a long time and they give the room a definite flair.

I have a high-ceilinged apartment and was looking for a tall bookcase which didn't look like a clunky piece of boring furniture. The Plymouth Bookcase fit the request perfectly! The finish is very professional-looking and the wood pieces arrive very well-packed (so no dents). The instructions recommend 2 people put it together, but... it is not impossible for one person to do it as well (just takes longer). I am a 5'3" woman and I got the job done in about 2-1/2 hours. Probably the only small complaint is in the final assembly... there were no pre-drilled holes in which to put the 20+ screws that secure the back panel. These holes are absolutely necessary as the panel is supposed to be screwed into the hardwood side panels, so I had to make my own. But... I am very happy with the final result and am considering buying another one!

We've had this piece for over a year now and it's been excellent. I can't speak to the assembly process because we had our handyman assemble it and attach it to the wall (which I recommend for safety reasons because it's very tall, particularly if you have kids or live in earthquake country). It still looks new and holds a lot of books and photos. The wood is a nice, heavy quality. No complaints at all; you won't be disappointed in this bookcase!

This bookshelf is great. It's a very sturdy wood, nothing like most of the particle board pieces you can find super cheap. This is inexpensive, but doesn't look like it. The bookcase arrived in two very heavy boxes. I would suggest assembling it in the room where you want it to reside because it is a heavy piece of furniture. It was easy for two adults to put together, and looks nice. There was a bit of a "chemical smell" (from the wood stain?) for the first week or so, but that has gone away.

Finally a piece of furniture that comes with instructions that make sense, are easy to follow and understand. These booksehelves are beautiful. I ordered one and then a second one because I was so happy with it. Very heavy duty and yet assemble easily. I takes two people but not more than an hour or so timewise.
