instruction do not tell you everything. What you have is for hard wiring into the wall. So if you are buying it just as plug in you will have loads for extra parts. It took about 3 hrs to figure this out after calling manufacture twice which was not a help. In order to make wall canopy stable with screws you will have to hold nut in place with pliers and tighten with screw driver and/or hands.(no mention of nut in instructions although they are in the box) Then you can screw on threaded knob which is the decorative part of front plate. I agree with other reviewers lamp shades are bit too little. Difficult to get hand up there to turn off. would have been better with a pull chain. But considering price this is a well made product. I would encourage anyone to by if you don't mind a little problem solving with your purchase.

Great Little Lamp
 from KC,  Feb 24, 2010

I agree with previous ratings that it's a bit tricky to wiggle your hand up the shade to turn the lamp on and off, but what do you expect for the size, right? For the price and look would definitely buy again!

Got these as reading lights in the master bedroom. Easy to assemble and install. They are perfect with 15 W lightbulbs in them. Things to note - 1) the cord instructions were backwards with mine, i.e. you had to hold the plug in the opposite direction than what is shown in the figure and then remember to flip the cord to the opposite direction too. Easy to figure out though. 2) The lamp shades are diamond shape, not square as they appear in the image. At first I thought that they would bend into the square shape, but they don't. The inside diagonal braces are such that is longer than the other, so it has to be a rhombus. This wasn't a problem for me, but it wasn't expected.

Lamp
from Hamburg, NJ,  Feb 10, 2010

I am very impressed at how quickly this lamp arrived at my door. The lamp was easy to install and looks very nice in my son's bedroom. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase, as always, when I shop with Overstock.

Very Pleased
from Ozona, TX,  Feb 5, 2010

These lamps have a beautiful sleek finish. They were easy to install with the plug in method, and it was wonderful that they could also be wired in rather than plugged in. I am very pleased with the results. I put them on each side of a loveseat in my kitchen and they look very elegant in this seating area.

It takes a while to get it installed. The instruction is poor. The lamp is neat, like the design.

lose the clutter
from Montague, MI,  Jan 6, 2010

I bought these lamps for either side of the bed. They look fabulous and the best part is that they keep the clutter off of the bedside table. I am so glad I went with this lamp. One downside is that they are fairly low profile and it's a little tricky to get your hand inside them while lying in the bed. Not impossible, but a little trickier than you are ready for if you fell asleep reading. Not a deal-breaker though - I would by these again in a heartbeat.

great for small spaces
from Albany, NY,  Dec 31, 2009

I needed a light for the tiny space beside my bed and this little light fits great (extends only 8" from wall). Looks attractive. I gave it only 3 stars for workmanship as mounting holes did not line up well, and reaching the on/off knob is a little tricky (tight space), but this light is a great value for it's price.

Pin up plug in lamp
from Hamilton, Ohio,  Nov 1, 2009

I bought this lamp for my closet which was always so dark I couldn't see anything. So after seeing this lamp on the website, I thought that was the perfect way to go., I love it.. It makes finding things to wear alot easier and now I can really see if they match before I get out in the sun with them on.

I found the assembly time consuming and frustrating. The look was worth the headache of constructing the lights from scratch..

Difficult to install but nice once it's together
from Encino, CA,  Sep 20, 2009

I ordered two of these, and each of them came with all the parts necessary to put it together; however, assembly was very difficult. Worth it, but difficult. For example, the metal cord cover was not really big enough to accommodate the cord, so it took a long time to force it through. This would have been so much easier if the cord cover was a tiny bit wider! But I'm glad to have it, it makes it look much nicer than cheaper plug-in sconces. Also, the cord was not connected to the plug, you have to do that yourself, with a hammer. It's a little intimidating, but I guess it's handy because it means you don't end up with a longer cord than you need. One of the lights came attached crooked, but I was able to force it back into position after some wrangling with a pliers. All in all, a lot of work to set up, but I have received several compliments on them, so I guess it's worth it.I'm using them attached to a light switch, so I'm not worried about the switch position, but it didn't seem too bad to me. There is plenty of room in there for a "mini" energy saver bulb, so they are big enough for me.

small wall lamp
from Louisville, KY,  Sep 13, 2009

This had some ugly reviews for assembly; I did not find that to be the case. This was easy to install for my wall space and I simply wanted it to be a plug in, so connecting the outlet plug to the wire was all that was necessary after screwing the lamp into the spot needed. There were plenty of parts for many ways to use this lamp; just pick the pieces that you need for your purpose.

(almost) just what I needed
from Ridgway, PA,  Apr 30, 2009

I needed a small plug in lamp to hang on the wall over my kitchen bar. This one looked great in the picture, and I really liked the chrome look. BUT the shade was so small that we could barely get your hand in to turn the lamp on and off. I found a larger lamp shade at a yard sale and now I have the perfect lamp! It was a little confusing to assemble, but I figured it out.

pretty but horrible
from Los Angeles, CA,  Apr 27, 2009

The lamp is nice looking, but, really hard to assemble. I bought two and each one came with different parts and screws, also unneeded part came in the box. The instrutions are really bad and hard to understand. Once I mounted the lamps they were unstable and loose. Afterall, it was really hard and frustating to mount.

Good value
from Mattawa, WA,  Apr 20, 2009

The diameter of the metal tubes was too small to accommodate the electrical wire. Otherwise, it's a good lamp.
