Easy to assemble, quality material and great color. Good buy.Read More
I love it, had no problem putting it together. My DVD's look so neatly organized in the case.Read More
The cabinet is well made and the assembly directions are easy to follow. All of the pieces were clearly labeled and the screw and peg holes aligned perfectly. A Philips head screwdriver and about 45 minutes was all that was needed for assembly. Be sure to take a moment to double check that the finished edge of the interior shelves are facing the correct way. I'd also suggest screwing on the magnetic catch to the top piece prior to attaching it to the body (instead of adding it at the end per the instructions).Read More
This is a really nice cabinet - a beautiful color red. Its a little tough to put together - be careful to make sure the shelves are facing the right way before screwing them in. But once its together it looks nice and provides lots of space for storage or display.Read More
I am very happy with this little phone booth. The color is beautiful and people always remark favorably on it when they come in. Stores an amazing amount of stuff--DVDs, CDs, books, videos, whatever, and there are even a couple of hidden shelves where I keep stuff I don't necessarily want on display. We are very pleased with it. Brightened up our living room!Read More
This product certainly creates a talking point when we have guests! Our only disappointment was that it holds two rows of CDs on each shelf but you can't see the back row so you have to move out the first ones to access those kept at the back. I looked everywhere for baskets to fit the shelves and found nothing so my husband ending up making some. It is a good product but could be designed better to store more CDs and DVDs.Read More
The cabinet is well made, easy to put together and looks great next to a black TV and TV stand. The instructions are easy to follow and only requires about 45 minutes for a solo assembly. The reason I gave this an average review is the that description of it being able to hold 136 DVD's is very misleading. It probably will hold that many, but only if you put them in 2 rows deep. The problem with that is you can't see the second row of DVD's without pulling out the first row. Kind of a pain and I will probably keep trying to find something els that looks this good in my living room but holds more DVD's and Xbox games.Read More
We had originally seen the cabinet in a catalogue, but the dimensions weren't listed and the price was much higher than Overstock's. In general, the cabinet is easy to assemble and was shipped quickly, but it is more cute than functional. The cabinet is narrow and holds less than you'd expect from a media storage container, but it is very unique and looks nice. I like it because of the unique look, but if you are looking for sturdy and roomy, this isn't for you. As always Overstock's shipping was cheap and quick so no problems there.Read More
We ordered two and are very pleased. I am tempted to order a third. The assembly directions were very clear and the materials exceed expectations. I think that they are engineered to last. There was a minor challenge with assembly of one unit; a dowel hole was not deep enough, but my husband bore it with a drill bit & it worked just fine. The second unit was AOK, no problem, so I don't think one needs to anticipate issue. They are very cute. We are using them to hold DVDs in the family room. Shelves are deeper than most media storage units, so you can store something behind or in front on the shelf.Read More

How to Organize Your DVDs
Many people love to collect favorite movies, programs and television shows on DVDs, whether it's a collection of classics, documentaries, children's movies or everything in between. Most people cherish their collection of DVDs, but you might not know it from the messy pile those DVDs make when shoved into a box or crammed haphazardly onto a shelf. Some attractive media bookshelves can be a great place to start.
Best Bookshelf Materials
It's not unusual for bookshelves to incorporate multiple materials for different features. If you haven't decided on wood, wood products, metal or glass bookshelves, look at their relative strengths and weaknesses. Look below to learn the best bookshelf materials. Wood: "Solid wood" is a common term for furniture made from lumber planks. Beware of making assumptions based on labels like "hardwood" and "softwood." Hardwoods are derived from deciduous trees and softwoods from coniferous trees; the terms don't connote their relative strengths. Balsa is a hardwood even though it is very soft, just as Douglas fir is a softwood even though it is very hard. They all make excellent, classic stock material for bookcases. Generally, harder woods are the heavier and more resistant to scratches. Still, softer woods, if treated correctly, will keep just as well as harder woods. Plywood: Made by stacking thin sheets -- "plies" -- of lumber and gluing them under pressure, plywood features grains that alternate direction for strength. Several grades are available, of differing cost. Top and bottom plies can be high-quality woods to create the appearance of fine woods, but edge veneer or molding is needed to complete the illusion. Particleboard: Wood chips glued together carry a much lower price tag than solid wood, and particleboard is denser and more uniform. It's a great choice when cost is the primary consideration. Bookshelves crafted from veneered composite boards can look and feel as good as real wood. MDF: Wood fibers, tiny chips and sawdust collected and glued into sheets form medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Low-cost MDF makes an excellent base for veneers; plus, its strength is consistent and it shapes well. Metal: There's a reason most library bookshelves are made from metal: Metal bookcases are resistant to moisture and fungus, their low-friction shelves are easier on books' bindings and metal's strength-to-weight ratio can't be beat. Their cost usually comes in below any other material. Glass: Glass bookshelves weigh more than other types, but if you plan on assembling your bookshelves only once, the style points can be well worth it. Tempered glass shelves (in wood or metal uprights, called "standards") give your home an unbeatable contemporary feel, and glass bookcases' smooth, transparent surfaces add brilliant levity to a decorating piece that might otherwise be notably opaque and heavy.
