This Pfaltzgraff set was to replace a Pfaltzgraff set that was 23 years old. I was a bit dismayed to see how light they were compared to my original set and that they were made in China - should have caught that when I ordered the set. That does not take away that I do like the set but much prefer to buy American made.

I have used the dishes every day for over 3 weeks now. I hand wash them and there has been numerous times i dropped the plates. No chipping at all but heavy.

I agonized over which pattern to choose before buying these and they are everything that I had hoped that they would be. They look so lovely on my slate dining table. I bought two sets (1i6 piece each), so that I would have extra plates / cups in case I broke one, but a year later, they are going strong. Glazing is perfect. Microwave food nicely and are easy to clean. One does not soak stoneware dinnerware, so that is the only thing that is missing in the description. I highly recommend Pfaltzgraff and love this pattern.
