Bookcase fireplace
We purchased this product about three weeks ago and are very excited about our purchase. According to my son, assembly was a breeze. He did use wood glue as suggested in reviews we read. The fireplace is beautiful and adds ambiance to our living room. The only negative statement I have about this product is that the slats where the heats comes out directs the heat downward. I would prefer to be able to redirect the airflow but this is not possible.

Warm Winter Days
We ordered this fireplace right after Christmas and couldn't be happier with everything. Fast shipping. excellent product, not too bad to assemble and most of all, we love that is can be moved around and doesn't need to stay in one spot forever! We were slightly disappointed with the appearance of the logs/flame, but have gotten used to it. We wish is put out more heat as well. Overall, we're thrilled with our purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone who has the room for not just a fire place, but 2 beautiful matching book shelves. Happy Shopping!!

what I anticipated
I bought this fireplace for the purpose of heating a 1000 foot open space. Few units state the capacity to accomplish this. I have yet to have the opportunity to fully try the unit as it has not been cold enough. I have tested it and feel a good amount of heat being discharged. The flames are not as realistic as I would have liked, but there are different settings on it for appearance which helps. I would trade the appearance of the flames for the amount of heat. It was not difficult to put together, but I too recommend using glue at all connections. It ends up being very solid. The shelves are decorative and will not hold any units such as dvd, receivers etc. I knew that however when I purchased this. So far, I am pleased with the purchase and just hope that on a cold day, the fireplace will heat the open space. Sorry I can't share that information just yet. It is an attractive set.

Exceeded expectations
All of the above and more. Arrived within 5-7 days of being ordered. Damaged on arrival and in a single online "chat" I was able to send a picture and had the damaged part delivered within another 3-5 days. Doesn't quite heat as well as I had hoped but perhaps my expectations were unreasonable - we have it in a very large room. All in all, an excellent product, very well built and Overstock has been A+++ to deal with.
