disappointed
Two things about the dishes...it's very easy to scratch one dish with the back of another so extreme care must be taken when stacking. The backs of the dishes should have been sanded down but I guess at this price you don't get that. Also on a few dishes the blue color did not complete cover the dish (on the side of the dinner plates). While I'm writing this, I realized I should have returned them but despite the flaws indicated above, I do like the retro design but would not recommend them.

Dinnerware Makes for a Beautiful Table!
Beautiful heavy stoneware, with excellent color and finish, makes for a beautiful dining experience. A soft beige tablecloth and then the soft aqua plates and bowls creates a beautiful warm and inviting table. Plates are large, holding ample main course dinners. The salad plates are nice size. And the soup bowls are large and deep. Making it nice to serve either a large bowl of hot soup on a cold winter's evening, or that extra helping of vanilla ice-cream and strawberries in warmer weather. The cups are designed so that the user can wrap their fingers and hands comfortably around them for either sipping or drinking a hot or warm drink. Clean-up is quick and easy with the slick shinny finish. This is the first time I ever purchased dinnerware without seeing and handling it first. And I am very well pleased!

The dishes are beautiful; however, I am thinking of returning them because I was really looking for something in an aqua color, and these are more blue.

Not quite the right color
We did send these back because they were bluer than we liked. They are nice dishes though.
