It sounds like Alice may have put the legs on the wrong side of the bracket. The table was assembled in less than 5 min with the included wrench. Very solid and looks good.

I ordered this table on Sunday and there were no reviews posted. On Friday, the day I was scheduled to receive my order I read the review from the lady who had assemby problems. I thought I would regret having purchased the table. It turned out to be an attractive table for my patio, and I assembled the legs in less than 5 minutes. It probably took longer to take out of the box than assemble. I have 4 dark wicker arm charis and this table makes a nice contrast. I don't know how the wood will fare here in sunny, humid Florida, but for the price it seems to be a great purchase! The table did have one loose slat, but I think it will be easier to glue than return.

The wood is nice-looking and so is the appearance of the table top, but the way the underside is designed caused an assembly issue. You are supposed to fit the table legs (these come with a built-in bolt) through a hole in some hardware at each corner, then place a washer and nut on the outside of the corner hardware, and tighten the nut over the bolt to hold the legs in place. Simple enough but....I don't know the terminology, but the straight wood pieces under each side of the table-top should have been a smidge shorter. They came too close to the corners where the nuts and washers were to go over the bolts, and there was... physically... not enough room to fit in the little wrench supplied, much less turn it the way it needed to be, to tighten everything up.
I thought I could solve the problem by using needle-nose pliers to reach in, grab hold of the nuts from below and tighten. (The bolts were a bit longer than my needle-nose pliers could open over so I couldn't attack from directly above the bolts. I felt as if I were performing surgery and had difficulty grabbing hold of each nut from the angle I had to do so. ) However, I persevered, but even with the nuts tightened, the legs were still kind of wobbly for some reason. SInce it is a hassle to send it back and I need the table, I will make it work by buying metal "L" brackets to screw into the legs and table bottom to hold everything rigid. It won't look as nice, but maybe this extra hardware won't show from the angles where I'll be viewing the table.
It will be a useful table once the leg attachment problem is solved. I had planned on using this as a low-budget coffee table, and still might if it ends up looking reasonably nice, but since I also need a table on my back deck, it might end up there. A pity. The topside is really quite attractive. I was going to buy another one, but now I won't.
