My electrician installed it this morning and it took him just a few minutes. This is an attractive, smaller-scaled post light that looks great with my bronze-tone post - the color is more of a oil-rubbed bronze with a light dusting of pewter finish over it; very versatile. The picture shows a hanging lamp, but it is a post light as described in the text. The bulb is not a standard socket fit; it is a spiral CFL with pins, so make note of the model for future replacement when it burns out.The price has dropped even more since I ordered it, and I think it is an excellent value, even at the higher price. As with many Overstock.com items, I found the exact fixture locally for MUCH more.This is a very sturdy and well-made light, it was well-packaged and arrived in perfect condition just a few days after I ordered it.

This is an awesome post-mount fixture, especially for the price here on Overstock. I used a few hand tools and, fairly easily, was able to convert this post light to a HANGING fixture. However I looked but could not find ANY replacement lamps for sale anywhere online. But that "problem" may be a result of the fact that I used the codes stamped onto the lamp which came in the box with the fixture when I went to look for replacement lamps. My eventual decision, for purposes of convenience and additional energy savings, was to completely disassemble the socket that came with the fixture and replace it with a standard lamp socket from my local hardware store. This worked out VERY well and now allows me to use very inexpensive lower-wattage and easy-to-find standard CFL lamps. I also save about 50% more electricity by replacing the 18w lamp with a 7w CFL. The brightness of a 7w CFL works great! So, if you're handy with some hand tools and a drill, you can buy this fixture and make it last virtually forever by changing the lamp socket. It's a great looking and functioning fixture.
