Panasonic NNSD997S Genius Prestige Inverter Microwave Oven

I can say excellent about everything except the timer. This is going to be a long term problem that I may or may not be able to work out. Apparently, the software engineers weren't putting much thought into the different between ovens and microwaves. One Second can make a tremendous difference. Here's how the dial works and if you can't life with it, I would recommend going with a different product. Believe, this problem is impossible to resolve with the existing equipment. From One Second to Ten, you can move one second at a time. After Ten Seconds, it jumps 5 seconds at a time. After One Minute, you can only do ten seconds at a time (example: 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, etc.) up to five minutes. (example, 4:40, 4:50, 5 minutes). Over 5 minutes, you are limited to 15 second jumps (example: 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45, 5:50, 6:00, etc. Being a microwave, 5 seconds, even one second, can be the difference between properly cooked or burned. Now the company will probably say this is where you use the lower the power. I tried that and it's very complicated to work out. So far, after five attempts to adjust the power to compensate for the lack of second control, I have not managed to cook anything at the right temperature. I chose the dial because it's easier on the finger. Anyone at any age that has the potential of arthritic in the finger appreciate anything that keeps one from promoting damage to the fingers. Again, I love everything the microwave represents. The software developers weren't thinking when they limited time control. I do not recommend it. I will probably be one of those people that suffer through having the first generation of a product that in the future will be great for others. If you wait and check out the next generation, be sure to find out what the timer can do. Believe me, it a very critical feature in something that cooks so exact.

Exceeded our expectations. It heats quickly, everyone loves the knob setting for timing. It is an awesome microwave for an office setting.

Great product.....very happy!! Would recommend! Would be nice if the interior was stainless, but, can't have everything.
