Paloma Dining Chairs (Set of 2)

I purchased these instead of spending more money at PB. Mistake. For a little more $ I could have chairs I could sit in for several hours without pain in my legs and bum! These seats are very small, the surface space is inadequate for anything other than a quick sit down. If you purchase for a small dinette where you're not going to spend much time; great. But if you plan on spending any time at all in these chairs, you will be looking for a pillow to sit on. I wish I had purchased the PB chairs instead. Now I have a B'day coming around and my daughter (who bought them for me) is going to have a hissy fit when I ask for the same chairs, only a comfortable PB chair set instead!!! Also, my son in law had to create new holes for assembling because if he had assembled according to instructions, the screw would show. AND, the paint chips. Not happy at all. Have owned these for 6 months.

I had been looking for a smaller chair to go with an antique oak pub table I have had. I wanted a ladderback style but not your typical chair. when I saw these, they were exactly the chair I wanted. but they sell out fast. I tried twice before I actually was able to get 4 so they must be very popular.

I got the chairs promptly. We ordered 4. We put together the first one and had a terrible time getting the screws on the sides of the seat to go in and not stick out the sides and show. We disassembled and tried swapping the sides and that did not help. I got on here and read reviews that others had the same problem. The holes are drilled at an angle and should not be. My husband is redrilling the holes as we speak. He may end up uding a finishing nail on each side instead if this does not help. One of the chairs has one leg that is slightly shorter than the other 3. We plan to add a taller leveler to the bottom of that leg. Overall, I'm satisfied with the chairs. The directions are not the greatest. I suggest reading all of the steps beforehand. You don't want to tighten everything in step 3 then realize in step 4 when you add the leg braces that you should add them then tighten everything.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Good, sturdy, pretty chairs. One was wobbly doe to one leg being shorter than the other three. We will put a taller leveler on that leg I guess.

I was really skeptical of these chairs despite the good reviews b/c they were so inexpensive. I needed 6 of them for a smaller scale pine farmhouse table. I ordered two to start and was very happy with them. I put them together in under 15 mins each (very simple) but I agree with others that the seat is a little difficult to screw in. They aren't super heavy, but are a good, sturdy weight and don't feel flimsy or cheap at all. Everyone wrote "good for the price" so i was worried b/c i was willing to spend more for good quality. They are good chairs, period. Almost identical to the ones sold at Pottery Barn for much, much more $$. I"m about to order 4 more.
