This lamp apeared to be metal / iron but the main parts are plaster. Not until I had it out of the box and installed did I notice that there was a piece broken off - I was shocked and angered. Yes - I could have returned it but that would have meant calling the electrician back out which would cost me double. Do not buy!!

For the money, this chandelier was a great buy. My contractor said it was a nightmare to install. I am glad that I did not have to do that part.
