Sturdy and Heavy
There is certainly nothing flimsy or frail about this item. It is built like a tank and it is larger than it appears in the pictures. The hardwood is thick and heavy. The finish isn't perfect but the style is informal so it isn't supposed to be perfect. The back panel looks as if it were assembled by amateurs - several of the screws are put in crooked and they used shims to make the drawer slides line up correctly. These minor flaws cannot be seen from the front and do not affect the sturdiness or appearance of the item. The drawers had come apart during shipment and they were difficult to reinsert. Now that it is reassembled I'm very happy with it. The nightstand arrived just 8 days from when I placed the order. The Padova bed is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I can't wait to see them together.
