Disappointed! .....But had a good laugh.....
I purchased this hammock to replace a sturdy old cotton rope hammock that had seen better days. Unpacking the hammock, I was very pleased. It was beautiful. The color was lovely, the weave so soft that I wouldn't know it wasn't a natural material. The wood was a great color and seemed well finished. We thought it looked great. Those are the good points. The only good points..... The bad? We found that the rope on this hammock was so thin that even when stretched as taut as was humanly possible to stretch this onto our large, durable metal hammock frame, this cheap hammock almost folded the user in half once you got into it. So we tried to make the hammock tighter. No go. Despite the completely stretched hammock now being literally parallel to the ground at 4' up, ( a ridiculous look by the way. A little higher up and I could have used it for a bad shade cloth) when I got into the hammock my rear end still almost touched the ground! I weigh 105lbs, so its not like I was putting a strain on the hammock. My friend then got into the hammock and his rump at 175lbs did hit the deck. Pretty hilarious. Less like a hammock and more like a Saturday Night Live sketch. Think Fred Flintstone. It would have been truly a laugh riot had I not paid for this. PS: the unfinished ends of the rope...and there were a lot of them....were only scotch taped. Scotch taped? Yeah. Not kidding. Scotch taped. Overall a very pretty, very cheaply made hammock. Yep....It goes back tomorrow. Maybe if you had two trees to string it across really high up it might be better..... Nah. Excellent hammock for punking your friends! Lousy hammock for lazing the weekends away. Glad that Overstock makes returns so easy!

Second time I have ordered here, and the last, as the description doesn't fit the product, both times measurements were off. Unfortunately the remedies are time-consuming and frustrating. Too short hammock and too small rug pad.

Stretchy, soft, and comfortable
I bought this a few months ago for my brother, because the old hammock he had was on its last legs, and he would never buy a new one for himself. He really likes it a lot. It feels soft and is roomy enough for two (moderately-sized) adults, or an adult and two or three kids. He said he would rate it five stars. He and his wife both commented that it's very comfortable. When I bought it, the price was modest and I am very satisfied with the quality. I don't think I would have found the same quality for a better price anywhere else. We didn't find any scotch tape or any frayed ends, unlike one of the other reviewers. If you are thinking about buying this, you should be aware that it is more stretchy and longer than other hammocks. It shouldn't be a problem if you hang it between trees or from posts so that you can adjust it to hang as you see fit. I probably wouldn't recommend it to hang in a hammock stand, because it might be difficult to get it raised up and/or tied tightly enough--unless you think it won't bother you to hang slightly lower than what you may be accustomed.
