This blind was exactly what I needed and could not find locally. The only problem is the appearance is not perfect. There is a flaw in the top panel that shows at all times, I guess you could call it character and that's why I didn't send it back. Also, my husband already installed in and so we just let it go. Just my luck that the flaw isn't in the lower part and would not be seen. The other thing is that it is hard to get the folds to look level. I'm not sure if the pulley's are off, or if the fabric is just more wrinkled on one side. Still working on that one. The rod pocket is very wide, so buying a rod should take that into consideration. All being said, I like to blind and think that the flaw is probably random .
I love the look of these blinds, and the fact they hang from ordinary curtain rods. So, so easy to hang right out of the box. Be forewarned, these ARE NOT completely light-blocking. I ordered the white, and they do let in quite a bit of light, but that is exactly what I wanted. Great for a small or dark room. Other colors might block more light.I also love the comtemporary look of the horizontal seams, and the fabric looks like a roman shade when in the 'up' position. As with other shades/blinds, you can lock the shade up or down by pulling the cord to the far left or right. The pull mechanism is on the right side of each panel, ( your right, as you look at the panel), which could be a bit of a bummer if that makes it hard to reach in your setting. The string in the pull mechanism is lightweight, so I doubt the pull mechanism would survive, say, a teenage boy pulling them open and closed each day. The mechanism, in my opinion, is best for light usage. If not for that, I'd give these blinds a 5 star rating.Shipping was super fast!
I purchased these for a bedroom. I bought the linen color - it is more khaki and the panels have thick seams running width-wise. The pulling mechanism is not the greatest construction. The curtains are functional but not as attractive as the picture looks and I am using them in the utility room instead.
The blinds were for my son, and he likes them. He is considering ordering more for some of the other windows in his home.
I liked them for what I purchased them for...which was to make my dining area look a little more casual. They don't block much light but that was fine for where I put them. They look very nice on a wood rod that I already had up and I am very happy with my purchase; however if you're looking for privacy and blockage of light, you probably won't appreciate these.
