The tower is everything we wanted to have to store our DVDs. It fits perfectly in the hallway, is the correct color and we have plenty of space left over to store future DVDs we may purchase. Assembly was easy, especially when the wife read the directions and directed me where to place the parts. The price was right, also!Read More
happy with tower, looks nice, my son was very happyRead More
THIS ITEM IS PERFECT YOU'LL LOVE IT! AMAZING GREAT LOVE IT!Read More
Having read many other reviews, I agree/disagree. Assembly requires little skill, but you MUST pay attention and use care, I assembled it face-down on a blanket covered dining room table, saving me having to bend down. You need two people to safely move it from the table. The packing material is a real mess. The package of small piece parts had broken open during shipping or packing, and I had to carefully examine all packing material to find needed pieces. All that said, this cabinet is a great bargain and is sturdy once attached to the wall with included hardware.Read More
Pieces are very cheap and easily damaged. Included "hardware" is very flimsy. I've assembled lots of cheap, "assemble-it-yourself" furniture over the years, but this piece was the absolute worst.Read More
This DVD case arrived yesterday. Today my wife and I spent 90 minutes or so assembling it. When we got to the final stage--installing the back pieces, the unit came apart and was beyond repair. Cheap fiberboard, pot metal pieces--a decent design winds up below a "poor" rating. It is going to our country dump tomorrow. To say we are disappointed with Overstock.com is a huge understatement. Every purchase in the past has met or--often--exceeded our highest expectations. Under no circumstances should you even consider buying this product, or any others made (by China) under the same brand. The ONLY decent thing that could be said of this product is that the assembly instructions were clear, easy to understand and follow. The quality of the materials, on the other hand, could not be worse. Shame on you, Overstock.com!Read More
This product is the very unsteady. I have always been handy and always put things together around my home. This item no matter how much I tried to screw it together is just not safe. It seems like the shelves are going to fall apart at any moment. I would not recommend this item AT ALL. I have been working with it for over 3 hours now and I see no hope. It is a 66 lb box and I don't know how I am going to return it. Money down the drain.Read More
I had lock screws that were not flush with the wood so there are cracks were light comes through and is uneven.. looks cheap. it does serve its purpose but the quality is not what I had hoped for. I also had trouble with the piece that covers the back. It was damaged and it took 2-3 weeks to actually get the replacement part. Customer service was fine and it was no trouble to order replacement part just took a long time to get it. From a distance it looks fine, just don't look to closely...Read More
Very cheap wood. I put it together and it started to fall apart when I was standing it up. This item is junk.Read More
I like the cabinet, but it way over priced for the quality of the item. I would normally expect to pay around $** for an item of this quality.Read More

TV Stand Buying Guide
Lately, television consoles, stands and storage racks have been exhibiting updated designs, sporting storage for your media essentials in models that are tastefully coordinated to the rest of your living room furniture. Compact TV stands and corner TV stands are convenient in smaller apartments, dorm rooms and offices, but even large homes can benefit from the clean look and discreet presence of a television stand. As more people upgrade to lean flat-panel televisions, they are seeing that the smaller size of a TV stand is all they need. The furniture industry usually reserves the term "entertainment center" for the largest TV furniture, big enough for the television, a cadre of audio or video components and a full CD-DVD collection. TV stands tend to be smaller than full entertainment centers while still having enough shelves for a few components and some media storage. For smaller homes or for smaller rooms in larger homes a stand may be all the TV furniture you need.

Paper Shredder Buying Guide

Now these music players are adding new features to become full-fledged portable media players. As you search for new portable MP3 players, watch for some of these advanced features.
Best Ways to Use Paper Shredders
If you're concerned about protecting your personal information and sensitive documents, a paper shredder is an important tool for properly destroying documents. Paper shredders are made with multiple security features. Some shredders cut items into long strips, while cross-cut paper shredders go even further and shred documents into small diamond-shaped pieces. Here are some of the best ways to use a paper shredder to protect your identity and sensitive information. Shred paper documents. Shredding documents containing personal identification reduces the chance of someone obtaining personal information such as your social security number, address, birth date and phone number. Medium-sensitivity documents containing addresses and phone numbers can safely be disposed of with a normal cross-cut or thin strip paper shredder. For more private information and confidential documents, shredders that are medium or high security are the safest selection. These high-end paper shredders cut paper into even smaller pieces. Dispose of media. Some paper shredders are durable enough to destroy CDs and DVDs. As modern life becomes increasingly digital, more and more sensitive information is stored electronically. To protect this data, the right paper shredders reduce CDs and DVDs into jagged shards of plastic, making it impossible for anyone to retrieve sensitive data. Light-duty paper shredders won't shred plastic, but shredders that are medium to heavy duty are capable of shredding CDs and DVDs as well as paper. Destroy old credit cards. Simply breaking an old credit card in half or cutting it up by hand isn't really a safe way to dispose of these easily compromised items. To be sure your credit information is safe, run old or non-used cards through a medium to heavy-duty paper shredder. View All Paper Shredders Back to Guides Directory View All Paper Shredders
Best Bookshelf Materials
It's not unusual for bookshelves to incorporate multiple materials for different features. If you haven't decided on wood, wood products, metal or glass bookshelves, look at their relative strengths and weaknesses. Look below to learn the best bookshelf materials. Wood: "Solid wood" is a common term for furniture made from lumber planks. Beware of making assumptions based on labels like "hardwood" and "softwood." Hardwoods are derived from deciduous trees and softwoods from coniferous trees; the terms don't connote their relative strengths. Balsa is a hardwood even though it is very soft, just as Douglas fir is a softwood even though it is very hard. They all make excellent, classic stock material for bookcases. Generally, harder woods are the heavier and more resistant to scratches. Still, softer woods, if treated correctly, will keep just as well as harder woods. Plywood: Made by stacking thin sheets -- "plies" -- of lumber and gluing them under pressure, plywood features grains that alternate direction for strength. Several grades are available, of differing cost. Top and bottom plies can be high-quality woods to create the appearance of fine woods, but edge veneer or molding is needed to complete the illusion. Particleboard: Wood chips glued together carry a much lower price tag than solid wood, and particleboard is denser and more uniform. It's a great choice when cost is the primary consideration. Bookshelves crafted from veneered composite boards can look and feel as good as real wood. MDF: Wood fibers, tiny chips and sawdust collected and glued into sheets form medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Low-cost MDF makes an excellent base for veneers; plus, its strength is consistent and it shapes well. Metal: There's a reason most library bookshelves are made from metal: Metal bookcases are resistant to moisture and fungus, their low-friction shelves are easier on books' bindings and metal's strength-to-weight ratio can't be beat. Their cost usually comes in below any other material. Glass: Glass bookshelves weigh more than other types, but if you plan on assembling your bookshelves only once, the style points can be well worth it. Tempered glass shelves (in wood or metal uprights, called "standards") give your home an unbeatable contemporary feel, and glass bookcases' smooth, transparent surfaces add brilliant levity to a decorating piece that might otherwise be notably opaque and heavy. Tips on Choosing HDMI Cables
Home entertainment technology has now moved into the digital age, and high-quality connector cables have been developed to keep up with modern TVs, stereos and home theaters. HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) cables offer a single-cable solution for both audio and video on high-definition devices. Most HDTVs offer at least one HDMI input. Devices such as DVD players, Blu-ray players, computers and game consoles have HDMI outputs. HDMI cables make connecting electronic devices much easier by combining audio and video transmission into one cable. Choosing an HDMI cable from the wide variety available is simple if you consider a few simple tips.
