The Oreck steam cleaner works great! It generates steam in less than 30 seconds. The tank size is large, more than a quart, so you don't run out of water. It cleans the kitchen tile floor well without leaving excess water on the floor. There should be an extra cleaning pad supplied with the unit, to let you wash one pad and use the other. The only awkward thing is that there is not a convenient way to wrap the excess cord on the unit while it is in use or in storage, otherwise there are no problems. Oreck has a great product!

Defiantly worth the money...works great on floors, walls, counters, stairs, windows, curtains, everything you can possibly clean in your house great product and the attachments actually work.....oh and for the people who wrote in their review that there's no place to put the cord once your done...i don't think you looked at your steamer very well cuz at the top there is a yellow hook and then the bottum hook you pull out of the second handle.

I bought this to steam clean a yoga studio's floors and mats. And purchased this one after returning 2 Haan steam cleaners that broke within a week of their purchase. It's true that you get what you pay for, and while this is not the least expensive, it is sturdy and really produces quite a bit of steam. It has a generous reservoir, and you do not have to pump it to produce the steam, unlike the Shark that I borrowed.
I have yet to use any of the attachments, so am unable to comment on that. I did purchase extra head covers through Amazon, because I read an earlier review that said you could use your own cloths, but tried that and if it wasn't close in size and pulled very taught made the steamer hard to manipulate.
I like it so much I'm considering buying one for home!
With 3 dogs it was a struggle to keep our hardwood floors clean. I saw an advertisement for this product and decided to give it a go. It did not disappoint. I use this steamer a lot. My floors look clean and feel clean. I have cleaned the steam generator once due to low steam output. I now use distilled water in the tank. I am very satisfied with this steam cleaner. It is well built, sturdy, easy to fill and easy to use. Love it!!
If I could get my money back I would.....this product is worse than using a cheap mop. I have ceramic tile floors throughout my house and this steamer leaves a film on the entire floor. I thought possibly it was the hard water, and I purchased distilled water to see if it would help and it does not. Then if you walk barefoot on the floor it shows the foot print on top of the film. Point is......the floor looks worse after using the Oreck steamer. I called the company and she said it was probably lifting old products off the floor and leaving the residue. I have cleaned them now at least 5 times and the result is the same. Save your money.....its no good.
I have stone floors in my kitchen and bathrooms and I never felt I was getting them clean with a mop - so the steam cleaner seemed the best way to ensure that was happening (note I have not swabbed my floors before and cultured the results).
The cleaner is a little greedy on space. The attachments have to be put "somewhere" because they cannot be attached to the machine. The machine has a loop affixed, so it may be hung from a hook, but the filling funnel, the extra floor head, the extra mop head, etc. all take extra space - if the machine is on a hook - then the accessories must be elsewhere.
Otherwise - it is a good product - very uni-task - but good.
The Steam-It is a good news/bad news product. On the positive side, I find it does a very good job of cleaning floors; the water heats quickly, and the steam scrubs up even stubborn kitchen stains. I very much like being able to use old towels on the scrubbing tool instead of having to buy extra "bonnets," and the clips are strong enough to hold the towels firmly in place. However I find I don't use the Steam-It as much as I had expected for other tasks. Once it's filled with water, it's a bit too heavy and awkward to use on the inside walls of the shower stall, where I'd hoped it would get rid of soap film and water spots. As for spot cleaning sinks and drains, unless you're very strong, forget it. And I don't understand at all the purpose of the roller mechanism on the floor cleaning tool -- it looks like it should scrub or sweep up something, but it's totally covered by the bonnet or towel, so what is its purpose? And why are there special clips for removing it, with no mention in the instruction book about when or why it's to be removed? I e-mailed Oreck with my questions, but I haven't received an answer. I was delighted with by my experience with Overstock.com -- I ordered the Steam-It one afternoon, and it arrived the following day. That's service! However in reading the warranty, I discovered that unless I had purchased the Steam-It directly from an Oreck store the warranty is useless -- an important factor not mentioned anywhere that I noticed.
Just moved into a home with lots of wood floors, so bought this steam cleaner. It works great, makes the floors shine, and as an added bonus really picks up the pollen during allergy season. One note: the cloth with the shorter pile is more difficult to push around on the floor. Could be hard for someone with back or hip problems.

I have a sectional with microfiber will this steamer clean it or just kill the germs. Where do you purchase extra cleaning pads.gokargirl on Nov 28, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello gokargirl, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this can clean your sectional. You can purchase the cleaning pads at your local store. I hope this helps. Happy shopping! overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 29, 2013
I've not used mine on the furniture yet, but it probably would do a really good job. My floors are squeaky clean, more so than with prior steam mops. It can be awkward to use other than a steam mop, since it is one solid unit.slbrooks13 on Dec 4, 2013
It would definitely kill germs and will also clean, but you would need to change your pads often to remove the dirt. Because microfiber is a synthetic material, I would test it on an inconspicuous area first. Heat could affect the nap on the fabric, or the direction the fibers in the fabric lay. Some synthetics can be damaged by heat. Better safe than sorry! I read in a review that you can use your own cloths which would be good for cleaning furniture...just be sure that the cloths you use are absorbent and are of a type of fabric that won't leave lint on your fabric and will slide easily when pushed. You can test it by rubbing the cloth on the fabric. Good luck!kere on Apr 8, 2014
