One Major Flaw
I would recommend this more highly except for one major flaw: the exhaust blows over the top of the unit toward the front instead of up or back. I feel like this just recirculates the same air, and if used for cigarette smoke, it blows it away before the machine can suck it in. I like the Oreck products, but the older units that exhausts straight up are much better designed. If Oreck would make one with an adjustable exhaust vent it would be much better.

Great buy for an Excellent price
Extremely happy with my purchase. After looking around for awhile I decided on this this one due to the permanent filter and optional replaceable odor absorber. My brother and I are smokers and this bad boy does a great job eliminating odors and allergens.

best air purifier ever bought
I had purchased the same purifier one year earlier along with a different brand purifier tower at a wholesale warehouse and found the oreck to be low profile (it can stand or lay flat) and non-intrusive to the space but what I love is the fact that when I walk into the room, the air smells clean and is easy to breathe. I have had asthma for over ten years now and have tried different brands. Anyway, when I saw this one @ overstock.com for a fraction of the original retail, (this one was re-furbished) I jumped at buying it. It arrived like new and I could not be happier. The filter is so easy to clean in the kitchen sink, let dry and drop back in and you are good to go for another month!
