This desk arrived somewhat the worse for wear, and had us discouraged for awhile. But, thanks to the absolutely great support online, we are in the end quite satisfied with the purchase. The first problem was the hardware bag was open and pieces were missing. We found a website listed in the paperwork, and requested the missing pieces. They arrived quickly. Then, turning over part of the desk, we discovered that a very important part of the front of the desk (the fold down front) was splintered on one edge and really unfixable. So I again went to the website, filled out what the problem was, and the fold-down part arrived at our doorstep even faster than the hardware had. So my husband could finish putting the desk together. It fits in the space just as I thought it would and looks terrific. It has quite a bit of space inside the top. It has a nice clean style. It does have a few nicks here and there, but I think those will be easily camoflaged. It's a very sturdy piece of furniture and, I think, quite a value. We're happy with it.

Good value for the price. Color was what I expected. Sturdy, easy to put together. It definitely had little dings but not enough to return. Just looks like it would in 6 months of use. When the top is open it you can put a monitor on top and it is a good set up for the monitor and keyboard. But you don't want to put a lot of stuff on top when it is open or you have to move it off to close up the desk and hide the clutter. Shipping was fast. Large heavy box. It would be hard to repackage and return so I was glad it worked out. As was commented by others, you get the corner piece which is needed if you buy the other smaller unit. Seems sort of wasteful and I am not sure what to do with it.

This desk is very solid and sturdy. It is well made and the open top feature is great for keeping things neat and organized while still being able to close the top to cover up papers and the little items that clutter a desk. I have a laptop and extra monitor on mine and when the cover is closed, there is plenty of extra room for writing or other work. The add on corner piece is nice but it does not come with any legs so I was concerned about putting anything too heavy on there. My husband is handy with woodworking though and he is making some legs to attach to it for me so I can put my printer on it. Overall I am very satisfied with this desk.

This desk was easily assembled. Very high quality and a beautiful piece of furniture. Full size desk that does not appear full size in room being converted to an office. I recommend the piece. I only wish I could have found the file cabinet that matches.

The desk looks like the photo. Great finish. A few nicks here & there but easy to touch up with dye sticks. The desk is heavy. It comes in just 6 pieces. Most of the assembly was easy. A few of the screws are in tight places making the back half of the desk a bit of a challenge to get the hex head driver into position. Once put together very sturdy and good looking. The piece I ordered came to me with a smashed corner. I attches a few brass corner pieces and solved the problem. Over all a good value.

This desk has simple, clean lines and it was easy to put together. However, it did have some scratches on it and we had to work hard to get one of the legs on becasue the holes were off center. But once it's together, it's a nice desk.

If I was surprised by any aspect of this purchase, it was the size of this desk, BIG - long and the top surface is quite high, but practical for writing and monitor placement. I was very pleased with the condition of the desk, esp after reading other reviews - just a couple tiny scratches on the lower leg on one side - very ample packing for shipping. Assembly was a cinch as the body of the desk is one piece and all you have to do is attach the leg frames.. The large Adeline desk comes with a large corner surface piece which is useless unless you buy the smaller desk to complete the corner unit configuration, so plan on storing that. It has a sleek, modern look and is a welcome upgrade from the old blonde colored multifunction desk I had before. The matching file cabinet would go nicely beneath.

Purchased both of the desks, separately. Assembly was very easy. The units were shipped incredibly fast, even recieving the main desk, after ordering within a week of Christmas. Very nice that they are all wood pieces with wood veneers, as opposed to synthetic veneer. Construction is excellent. About the only down side is they arrived with minor damage (nicks and chips). I thought this might be a one time thing, but had the same problem with the smaller desk when it arrived. they are very minor and in some cases invisible the way I have positioned the set.Overall I am very pleased and the set makes a great addition to my home office.

I had read all the reviews and many of them were about the defects on this desk. I like the desk and took the chance and ordered thinking that maybe I would luck out. I didn't. I had to reorder 5 parts that were damaged. The legs looks like someone taken a knife and made dents marks, the top drawer has a big chunk of wood taken out, the horizontal bar at the bottom was split in two. Looks like this desk came off the assembly line as a reject and it was still shipped out. The desk looks great but I would recommend anyone not to buy because it's not worth the hassle.

I read the other reviews on this desk before ordering it, and was aware that others had received damaged goods, particularly on the legs of the desk. However, I liked the look of the desk so much that I decided to take a chance on it. I should have heeded the warnings from others. The packaging was clearly inadequate to the rigors of the shipping process, because the desk arrived with multiple dings and chips in the legs and on the front of the desk. All of the hardware had torn loose from the plastic bag it had been confined by, so we had to search through every bit of badly shredded styrofoam to find all of the hardward. What a mess. I strongly recommend against this product.

Received our desks promptly. Minimal assembly required but parts strewn about in carton and directions missing a few key points. Both desks had scratches on the legs that can be covered easily. One desk has a warped top and hinges that will not tighten up properly. Overstock promptly sent a new desk top which, despite the hassle, solved our problem. The desks look nice and are sized perfectly for a small office area.

For a small office, this is an ideal desk. It looks graceful. even with the Adeline file cabinet underneath. My Macbook, phone book, paper, envelopes, calendar - all fit in nicely, so I can close it up when not in use. I do not have the smaller desk, so I don't use the corner piece. I'm wondering why this is part of the package, because it's no use, and thus a waste, unless one orders both desks. Your supplier might reconsider shipping it along if only one of the desks is ordered. It only adds to landfill.

The desk arrived with scratches all over the legs. I considered sending it back but didn't want to go through the hassle of boxing it back up and paying the shipping charges. The scratches are very noticeable but other than that the desk works fine and was easy to assemble. There was also a quarter round piece that looked like a drop leaf or an extension but there was no place to put it. It's not shown in the picture and there were no instructions for it.

When the desk arrived the box had a large hole in it. The desk only has a bad place on the back corner and one of the legs had a couple of scratches. Overall the desk was in good condition so I decided to keep it. Otherwise the desk is beautiful so I may go ahead and order the additional section for use with the corner piece.

I ordered the desk and rolling file cabinet. They arrived promptly, but the filing cabinet was damaged in transit. I spoke via email to Overstock representative and he replaced the filing cabinet within 10 days. I am very pleased with the appearance of these pieces and the prompt response from Overstock. I've ordered several things from them and have never been disappointed with either the level of quality for the price or response to any problems.

This desk looks great. It is very functional and I love it. That being said...There were several scratches on the desk. Luckily, they were in inconspicuous areas.Also, the parts for assembly were simply just floating free in the box. It was like an Easter egg hunt for the pieces.I'd buy the desk again, but it doesn't come without it's flaws.

Assembly was easy--only needed to add the legs and switch the drawer handles. The bulk of the desk, which comes assembled, is heavy. I needed my husband to set that portion upside down and to turn the whole desk right side up after I added the legs. We did not use the corner piece(s). The finished product is beautiful! I love working at the desk. We bought two to put in our home office. Would have given 5 stars, but there were a few scratches on the legs.

If you order this desk be prepared to accept scratches, dings and maybe missing hardware. I returned the first desk that I received only to receive another one that was damaged. The legs were scratched from faulty packaging, the hardware bag had ruptured so I had to look through the box and packaging to find all of the screws and the desk drawer is a little flimsy. That being said, the styling is nice but the constructions is just not as good as the picture and description led me to believe.

This is a very nice and sturdy desk. A bit large, but they do sell a smaller version. It had a couple of dings and scratches but not that big of a deal. Also, the instructions were missing, but I called Overstock and they emailed them to me.

A few dings and a bear to put together, but the resulting look and quality were worth it. It makes my living room look very sophisticated.
