not worth the money
I ordered 2 of these for my family room. I was shocked at how light the boxes were when they were delivered! the weight of these lamps made it so that when I pulled the chain to turn it on, the lamp toppled a bit. also, the chain on one of the lamps broke right away. They LOOKED so good I almost kept them...but they are very poorly made. I was surprised because I don't think they were that inexpensive. I have another lamp like these in my upstairs living room, and the retail price on that was 100.00, and it is built like a rock. i thought for sure when i saw the retail price on these that they would be close to the same, but i was wrong.

Not how it looks on the web
These lamps are made of plastic. I saw no "metal" base or "glass" on the shade. The lower half of each light bulb is lower than the bottom of the shade, so you can clearly see both light bulbs! I'm returning mine.

Shady Mica Shade
At first glance this lamp looked o.k. Then we put in a bulb and pulled the chain. AGGH! The shade IS made with small post-it size sheets of GENUINE Mica.They are applied on a flimsy plastic feel shade. The small squares shine through like pieces of scotch tape all over the surface of the lampshade. We own a more expensive genuine mica lamp and this is NOT the way a Mica shade should look. I would like to say that I am a HUGE fan of Overstock. Most of their products are well priced of superior quality and ship for free if you are in Club O AND look as beautiful in your home as any you could buy anywhere. I hope Overstock will stop carrying this item because it is not up to the standard of quality I have come to expect from their site.

Light Weight
These are the worst lamps I have ever purchased. I bought them for my bedroom - they are so light that I had to add rocks to the base - they still tipped over when my cats' tail hit the lamp shade. You have to hold onto them to turn them on or off. Ridiculous. I moved them to the guest bedroom and will most probably replace them before guests are forced to use them. I like their look but they are cheaply made and certainly not worth what I paid for them.

No truth in advertising.
I bought this lamp in the spring. I use it and like it but the description is everything the other reviewers said. No metal and no mica were involved in the making of this lamp. Mine also was missing the finial on top. Good to know that I can fix it so the bulbs aren't showing under the shade. The lamp is not worth the price asked. Quite disappointing, but I have kept mine.

I expected better
I kept the lamps, because the size and color was right for what I needed in a second home. But it wasn't at all the quality I expected for the price. Another disappointing light purchase from the "o". If I didn't hate sending things back so much, this would definitely have gone back.

Adequate for price
I had some reservations because of some other reviews so I got pretty much what I expected. The lamp overall has a nice effect, but it wasn't as tall as stated so I couldn't use it in the area for which it was intended. The shade does have a "post-it effect" in the pattern and it does not cover the bulbs sufficiently at the eye level. I had to use washers to tighten it down at the lowest level, which doesn't quite cover the bulbs. The price overall was fair and if it weren't for these complaints I would have rated it 1-2 stars higher and recommended it.

Pleased with lamp
I saw this identical lamp at an interior decorating store in town and it was priced $250. I paid much less than this on Overstock for the exact same lamp. The quality is fine. I'm using it in the Study where it won't get much traffic and is not at risk of being tipped over. I'm not sure I would use this lamp in a bedroom. The light bulbs are really bright under the shade and this would be annoying in bed. But for a study it works perfect.

Onion Pot Mica Lamp
I really like my new lamp. It fills a void behind my sectional and adds beautiful warmth to the room. The base is really light, so I am afraid of someone knocking it over when they stretch their arms. All in all though, for the price, it is a nice additional to my living room.

Great Buy
I was a little sceptical about this lamp after reading some of the reviews, now that I have the lamp, I have no idea what people were talking about who were unsatisfied with this lamp. The lamp is great! Gives off a warm glow of light, the bass does NOT wobble as suggested by some reviewers, and I have no idea what type of light bulbs some people were using where they ran into problems, but my standard size bulbs werent even close to being visable from underneath the shade. Of course this is not a 300 dollar real Mica lamp, but if you're looking for something charming and for a great price, this is a wonderful lamp.
