Oneida has a reputable name. Which is why I chose this brand. Hoever, even though it is described as stainless steel, you do need to monitor tiny little rust spots that appear periodically and you need a good rust remover soap to get them off before they become permanent stains. I use softscrub or comet to get them off. I have to inspect all my flatware aboout once every 3 months or so. Kind of a drag I know. That is why I did not choose excellent as part of my review

I loved this design. I have used Oneida for about 30 years and never had a problem. Over the years I have lost many pieces and needed to replace my set. I bought this one because it was slightly heavier and was a simple style. It is dishwasher safe however, it would pit when I washed it. I don't know if its a flaw in this particular design or what. Other than that I love it. Its a nice design for formal or informal and everyday use.Oneida has been wonderful to work with and is replacing my entire set with a brand new design. They will even let me replace half at a time so I'm not out my entire set at once.
