I love this juicer. It is not as loud as I thought one would be. Comparing the sound to a regular blender which is very loud and annoying this beefy thing just hums along at a deep low hum. The veggie pulp that is spit out is very dry indicating that I've gotten ALL the "good stuff" out into the juice. Clean up is a breeze. Way easier than cleaning a blender with sharp blades. This doesn't have a "blade". I don't like how the pulp from fruits isn't dry like the veggies are and too much of it remains in the grinding area but as a cancer patient I'm really interested in the veggie juice anyway. I bought the one that is chrome. It is very attractive on the counter next to my chrome toaster. I researched that a masticating juicer is the way to go and this does the trick at a very reasonable price for masticating juicers. I haven't used it for anything else because I'm mostly doing the veggie juice thing.

After a considerable amount of research, I felt the previous reviews and the 10 year warranty made the j8005 my best choice for masticating juicers within my price range. I have been using heavily for 14 days- in the middle of a 30 day juice fast, and I couldn't be happier with my juicer!! It's amazing how much more juice I get from green leafy vegetables than with my old centrifugal juicer. This thing is super quiet, easy to take apart and put back together. The parts are easy to clean- with my last juicer, there were all sorts of places for juice and pulp to get stuck without ever being able to wash it out. These come out perfectly clean!! I don't get a ton of foam with my juice, and it comes out much darker than with the centrifugal juicers. The pulp's much drier, so I feel confident I'm getting a lot more out of my veggies. The drawbacks: I find is that the chute is tiny and increases the amount of prep work you have to do. I highly suggest chopping up hard veggies like carrots into pieces since it seems a little tough on the auger if you just drop the whole carrot in. Rhubarb and swiss chard seem to get snagged around the auger and are most likely to create a clog that can only be removed by stopping and taking it apart. It's not very awesome for juicing things like pineapple, papaya and mango..it creates a slurry instead of a juice that seems to back up in the juicer and I end up making a huge mess when I try to strain it. Overall though, I bought this thing because it could process the greens and all the drawbacks are minor nuisances compared to how happy I am with this juicer. I highly recommend it!!
Giving it a 4-star mark because of the shipping: took me 10 (!) days to receive the package. The juicer is as expected - bought it after a long and thorough research. Juicing every day, great for greens, the pulp comes out dry (even for fruits).
