Omega 1000 Stainless Steel Juicer

I bought this juicer as a heal-inducing gift for my aging parents. I own a Breville, but was looking for something a little smaller and quicker to clean... my good friend owns the 9000 and recommended it. I bought the 1000. I set it up for them and gave them an introductory demonstration... not knowing how to use this style juicer, of course. Read the manual! It takes about 3 mins, and makes a difference. This is a centrifugal juicer, and the pulp remains in the bowl... I would say it gets 5-10% more juice than my beloved Breville. It also danced across my parents' kitchen like an 80's punk rocker that first time, as I overloaded it with fiber-y goodness. This is a fairly light-weight juicer, with a plastic base... not perfectly anchored, but definitely manageable once you know what you're doing. The feed chute (?), or veggie entrance, is quite small (more cutting to size), and the "plunger" is also plastic... it can ratchet inside the chute if the juicer is not balanced. Despite my poor and uninformed intro, my dad immediately took to shoving whatever veggies he could find through that little hole, and relishing the lovely liquid that resulted; it works very well. It only danced that first time, as my dad is a manual reader... and an eye roller. Pulp is dry. Juice receptacle and brush are NOT included, but a glass measuring cup and dish brush will do the trick. It's easy to take apart and put together, and blade disc is not connected to bowl, so there is less chance of injury than other designs. All in all, a very good purchase that will be used often.
