I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to try these or not ,based on the two reviews before me, the descriptions of the colors they received couldn't differ more. I went ahead and ordered 6 of these panels (96") for my bedroom, which I had just redecorated and painted a greenish-bronze gold (Venetian Gold) color. The curtains arrived in a week and they were a beautiful, deep caramel gold color with a slight hint of warmth, just gorgeous. I did end up returning them as they were a little too warm toned for my greenish-bronze wall paint, but the color of the drapes was in no way yellowish (aside from the fact that they are gold) or ugly. I'd say they are quite similar to the picture online, just deeper toned and richer looking. As far as quality, they were top notch. Weighted, lined, the correct length, and sewn well. I was so bummed that my paint color clashed, I decided to re-order these in another color, the claret red.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? differs, color is deeper
Please tell us about the quality of the product. excellent, heavy draperies
How accurate was the on site description of the product? very accurate
I had ordered a sample of this curtain some time ago, whilst I was contemplating covering a 22 foot sliding door/side light in one of my rooms....but I could just never pull the trigger because I was going to need 12 of these to cover the space and I thought it might look dorky if the light came through any of the spaces in between (cuz aren't these supposed to be blackout?) (unless I took the time to sew them together). Well, I'm glad I waited because I eventually ordered a sample of the amber gold 100" extra wide velvet blackout curtains instead and I liked them better for my purposes. For this product, compared to the extra wide blackouts, these feel stiff and not as good, but, eh, will do and has done in my home in other colors in other locations in the past. However, the extra wide blackout curtains are way softer and will likely have a more natural drape so I am ordering more of those instead.
I ordered 24 panels of the 120" drapes. They are all consistent in color, length, and workmanship, and there were no flaws anywhere in all those acres of fabric. All the panels are nicely finished at the tops and the hems. I used them in the formal double parlors and front hall of my 1880 home to bring some wintertime comfort to the drafty front door, rattling old windows and very high ceilings. The drapes block light and cold very well. Most importantly, they look gorgeous--luxurious, formal, rich and warm. I'm looking forward to our next nor'easter, just so I can revel in the new-found coziness of my home!
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The web photo looks lighter than the drapes, which are more of a caramel color. Very pretty.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Well-made, heavy, 100% cotton with a 100% cotton lining. The fabric is more like a firm velveteen, not as soft and drapey as a true velvet. I used the back tabs for hanging--they were all even and well-constructed.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very accurate.
