I cannot believe I didn't review this before. These curtains look like silk and hang just beautifully. Lined and weighted. My daughter gasped when she saw them up, they are just lovely. I have them slightly billowy on the floor. A great buy!!!Read More
These are incredible. They're fully lined and weighted. I'm so impressed with the quality on these. I bought 18 to hang in my new house, so I have a large project ahead of me.Read More
Really lovely shade that works as a great neutral -- very easy to hang.Read More
I purchased these drapes for our semi-formal living / family room. They are very heavy and will look great on a wooden rod. They are lined and have a slight sheen to them. Excellent value for the price considering how expensive long lined drapes are elsewhere.Read More
Nice heavy, well made panels. Using them over custom blackout roman shades in my master & looks gorgeous. Ordering another pair for my office.Read More
These are really nice for the price. The faux silk dupioni is beautiful with horizontal fabric texture you can see especially when there is light behind the drape. There is a felt interlining in between the faux silk and the backing, which is a wonderfully soft white cotton. They have a nice silk sheen without being too shiny. These drapes have weights in the bottom corners to help them hang evenly. I ironed them by hand directly on the front surface, and they pressed out great. I started out with a low setting (no steam) but eventually raised the iron temp to the wool setting, and they were just fine. These have a pole pocket as well as 7 fabric tabs sewn onto the header. If you use the tabs, the rod will be hidden behind the header, and I would recommend a thin rod so they will glide more smoothly. I used drapery pins and rings to hang mine for a more elegant look and for ease of opening. The fabric was so strong that I just pinned directly through the back layer of the header. I can't stop looking at them. Very happy with this purchase!Read More
The panels have a great texture and luxury about them. The interlining and lining do not make them stiff -- they hanged nicely. I am returning because the silvery grey color had a green undertone to it which was very noticeable especially when the sun showed thru. Clashed with grey walls.Read More
I am an interior designer, and these curtains look like a million bucks! The silk is great, the liner is perfect. The color is creamy white rich tint. We love them, clients love them in their master!Read More
nicely lined and cotton thermal layer. these drapes have hidden tabs on the back for sliding on any sized rod for a clean contemporary look. Color is a pink-toned off white. (does not have Ivory's grey tone, bone's neutral or cream's yellow tones)Read More
We bought 4 panels of the 120" length. In natural light, they are a true cream/off-white color. Under artificial lighting (regular indoor bulbs), they tend to have a slight peachy undertone. That would be my only complaint really. They ironed out very nicely and I like how they are double-lined. Since they're a light color, they do not block out light. They are not blackout panels!Read More

How to Hang a Valance and Curtains
Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. Window curtains with a valance give your window treatments a finished, designer look. If you want to block out light, a valance and full-length blackout panel curtain is your best choice. If you are more interested in decoration and only need to block minimal light, then a valance over sheer curtains is a good choice. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware. A cafe rod will be sufficient to support a sheer curtain, but you will need a stronger curtain rod to support heavier fabrics such as blackout panels. Also, the larger the window, the sturdier the curtain rod will need to be.
How to Drape a Scarf Valance
The flowing beauty of a scarf valance adds character to home window treatments. With many ways to drape a scarf valance, it is simple to change the look in each room of the home. Whether the scarf valance is positioned over panels of drapery, sheer curtains or blinds, it adds color and texture to the room. Discover a few basic instructions that will yield a swag-style scarf valance using swag hooks. The instructions may be modified to create a variety of creative valances.
How to Adjust Tension Rods
Curtains are a great way to accent the decor in every room in the house. Tension rods, also called spring rods, are curtain hardware which allow you to hang window curtains, wall curtains or shower curtains without installing curtain rod hardware on the walls. If an existing tension rod slips or if you want to change the curtain panels or add curtain rings, you may need to remove and adjust the rod before putting it back in place. Tension rods are positioned between two facing surfaces, such as the interior frame of a window or the opposing sides of a shower cubicle.
How to Install Blackout Curtains
Blackout curtains can keep a room cool and dark even when it's bright and sunny outside. A completely dark room is a wonderful thing if you have a job that requires you to work all night or even if you just want a dark room for watching a movie when it's light outside. In addition, blackout window treatments help you conserve energy by keeping heat in and cold out or vice versa. You have two choices when it comes to installing blackout curtains: You can buy curtains that come with blackout liners already sewn in, or you can add panels of blackout fabric to the curtains you already own.
How To Clean a Silk Dress

Popular Types of Quilts
Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
