It worked only 3 minutes before stopping. No reset button. Returned for replacement. Hope replacement is as advertised. Great concept for making slush drinks for a crowd.Read More
If you don't have the top on just right and in a locking position it doesn't run, and when you think you have it on just right it starts and goes all over the place and gets your guests all frinkin' wet!! How embarrassed I was... It's a hard machine to clean as well, takes 2 people... I thought it was going to be a great machine for my yearly Halloween party and boy was I wrong!Read More
I bought this as a house-warming gift. The first time my daughter used it she told me it would not grind even small ice cubes (caused the motor to smoke) and they had to buy flake ice. I offered to return it but she said they would keep it so I threw away the paper work and the packaging. The second time she used it, the blades caught on and mangled some kind of protective guard while mixing drinks. I was really disappointed that I couldn't return it then but also figured the cost of returning it would have been prohibitive. The third time she used it, we all found metal shavings in bottom of our glasses so it had to go in the garbage. I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone.Read More
Ordered two of these to see us through the outdoor entertaining season. They work pretty well for the price. There is some slight leakage around the dispenser, but we just keep a large rubber tray under them and deal with it. Still cheaper than renting a professional machine. One of them actually had a black hair embedded inside the insulated part of the clear plastic container which is a bit disgusting, but we didn't notice it until after we had used it the first time so figured it was too late to send it back. They ran like champs through two parties so far, so despite the minor flaws, I would order them again.Read More
I purchased this machine for myself. My husband and I will have occasional gatherings at our house and I needed something like this. I used my machine for the Thanksgiving holiday and loved it. It worked perfect! Keeps the beverage frozen and made lots of it. It takes about 10 minutes for the machine to make a batch, and I think that it will be for a crowd of like 6 to 10 people because it makes a lot. It is helpful to have something under the spout when it is not in use. It does drip a little, but nothing to really worry about. It is great to have.Read More
After shopping around, Overstock had the best price with shipping. This machine keeps the party going, makes amazing beverages, and easy to clean. My mistake was not reading directions first. Allowing around 10 minutes to blend, drinks came out amazing. The best part is being able to make single to a gallon beverages.Read More

Making smoothies and milkshakes is easy with the right blender to mix everything together into a smooth consistency. A juicer, on the other hand, separates juice from fruit and vegetables by squeezing it. If you want the pure vegetable or fruit juice of a vegetable or fruit, you will probably need to buy a juicer, such as an orange juicer, rather than a kitchen blender. For thicker smoothies and drinks that still contain fruit pulp, however, blenders will work well. Read on for tips on using your food blender as a juicer for a variety of fruits.

Treadmills vs Elliptical Trainers
New variations of tried-and-true exercise machines are always being introduced to the market as the technology of exercise equipment improves. Two exercise machines that have gained popularity are elliptical trainers and treadmills. A major advantage to elliptical trainers is that they possess little risk of injury to the knees, hips, back or ankles. Meanwhile, treadmills are home gym machines on which you can run, walk or jog. The treadmill has been in the marketplace for a long time and is a long-standing piece of standard equipment for most exercise enthusiasts. Elliptical Machines: Elliptical machines present a lower risk of injury to the body. This home gym machine allows the individual to stand in an upright position while supporting her upper body by holding onto the handrails. The individual is able to pick out what muscles to train by shifting the strength on the legs or the arms. This provides for a more flexible workout machine. The machine bears its name because it works to copy the foot's elliptical motion as well as the rotation of the hip during walking or running. Advantages of Elliptical Machines: Since elliptical machines work the upper and lower body, they help you reach your target heart rate more optimally, providing a better cardiovascular workout overall. Individuals can burn a larger number of calories in a shorter period of time. Muscles that benefit from this machine include the legs, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps and the back. Elliptical machines are also relatively easy to operate and are energy efficient because they do not use much electricity. Treadmills: Traditional treadmills were developed to help you walk, run or jog. Treadmills differ in advantages as there are some machines that have programs that can be customized based on your weight and fitness level. You can also manually control the program to increase or decrease the speed, the incline or the duration of the workout. Walking on a traditional treadmill, however, creates more impact on the knees and hips and may be a cause of injury for some users. Advantages of Treadmills: Some treadmill models have a cushioned surface to support the knees and other parts of the body. With these models, there is a lower risk of injury and an increased level of comfort for the user. Moreover, treadmills provide you with the option to run, jog or walk in the comfort of the gym. Also, you can burn calories by increasing the heart rate, providing a good cardiovascular workout. Buy Home Gym Machines Back to Guides Directory Buy Home Gym Machines
How to Choose a Wood Lathe
Wood lathes are simple machines that allow you to make beautifully symmetrical woodwork. Wood lathes consist of an electric motor, two points, called the "headstock" and the "tailstock," and a chisel or gouge. As the motor turns the piece of wood secured between the headstock and the tailstock, the chisel carves. With a wood lathe in your collection of power tools, you'll be able to make a wide variety of items, including wooden pens, table legs, banisters and even wooden salad bowls. Although lathes are fairly simplistic tools, finding the right lathe for you can take some time and research.

A History of Electric Light
On September 4, 1882, one square mile of lower Manhattan was aglow with light as the first commercial power station went into operation. Thanks to Thomas Edison's brilliance, for about 24 cents per kilowatt hour, 59 customers were provided with lights and electricity at night. By the late 1880s, the demand for that service had grown so much that small power stations could be found in many U.S. and European cities. We're still amazed by all the practical and aesthetic possibilities offered by lighting.
