    My first shipment came cracked. Packaging could definitely be improved. When we went to put the until in, we realized it was a wall mount, not flush. We ended up returning it completely. If you don't mind it sticking out of the wall, it would be a nice piece for a great price!

  • Easy to install

    This fireplace is very easy to install and operate. There is no timer feature in this one and the cord does come out of the right side. Take care of the remote because you need that to make the little adjustments to the two colors (blue and orange) - a nice feature to adjust the visual effect by mixing the two colors. We really like the reflection of the crystal (glass chunks) in the mirror in the back. Remember to take the protective plastic off all of the glass face of the fireplace before you reinstall it - we had to remove the face twice cause we missed some of the plastic. Warms the master BR sufficiently on high and the heat comes out of the top, so no installing inside a wall. We ordered the larger of the two sizes and love the size on our wall. So far so good and we like this product. Exactly what we expected from the description.

    Looks great--better than pic. Easy to install. The cord is placement is a bit unsightly. I coiled up excess cord and bound neatly with cable ties, and used cable staples to tuck the cord against the wall under the lip of the unit and hung unit directly over outlet so that only the plug is visible (wish I could attach a pic).

  • Cool/Hot Looking

    The images for any of these electric fireplaces are never detailed enough, neither are the specs. I had imagined this would be liken to the cool looking electric fireplaces at the new Wendy's restaurants. I was hoping the black glass bevel was going to be a sort of frame, larger than the mechanical box behind the glass and that the unit can be set into the wall. It's not. This is, and can only be, a wall mounted unit. However, actually mounting on the wall has it protrude a whopping 5-6 inches and looks clunky. The on switch is not only on the side, but at the very back of the unit thereby ensuring that this is mounted flush to a wall. The heat vent is at the top center. Since I don't intend to ever use the heater feature (I live in Texas) and because it has a remote control to turn it on/off and control the ice/flame, I am still going to mount it into the wall knowing that I won't be able to reach the controls unless I were to slide the unit out. That said: it's only a hang-on-the wall unit without a nice bevel, but is still quite beautiful and will go nicely in my ultra-modern remodel I'm finishing up now.

  • We have a shelf ("hole") in the bedroom wall and it was originally meant to have a television in it. We don't watch a lot of TV and certainly not in the bedroom. I understand that the heat is expelled from the top and there will be a good 10" from the top of the fireplace to the top of the shelf ("hole"). I think that is adequate venting space and wonder if you would agree?

    • Thanks for that info! I ran into some other info directly our of the installation book (page E6) and it says "check that the top of the fireplace is at least 400 mm from the ceiling". A bit of conversion, here, from a dumb American who was supposed to be thoroughly immersed in "everything metric" by 1985, or so, and if find that 400 mm is roughly 16 "California Inches" which of course is significantly less than "Texas inches". So, I'm still confused and 3" short of what I need. Seems like a small oscillating fan would do the trick, however: It would push that heat right out of that space and make the fire marshal tickled pink. So, overstockcustomercare1, where did you get your info from? Not the manual, for sure. Don't want a fire here, so if you have a higher source, please let me know... Thanks! John F.
