The desk is a great size, big enough for a computer and other accessories, and doesn't look cheap. There is not much storage space in the drawers.The first desk I recieved had several damaged pieces, but they were replaced very quickly.

The package / box was left on my driveway while I was away on business. Thank goodness it did not rain or was stolen. I had to repair a broken piece before I could assemble it. There are a few defects that I can tolerate though the desktop is cracked in the far corner. I conveniently covered that with a lamp. This is a classic example of getting a "good deal" by sacrificing quality. The desk is made in Malaysia.

The product came broken where it could not be fixed. I was totally disappointed. "Overstock" did take it back for 100% refund, however.

I was suprised at how fast it was delivered. I assembled it with ease. Aside from a small scratch on the top corner of the desk top it looks to be very sturdy. I would also prefer if the back of the hard drive compartment was enclosed, as we have the desk facing out, but not a deal breaker overall. After doing some shoping at a local furniture store I feel we got a great deal for the money.

The Newport Country Desk is beautiful! It meets all of my expectations. This is a solid wood desk without that cheap particle board back. I have been watching this desk for a while, hoping it would get cheaper, but I just couldn't wait any longer. It is replacing a desk that took up 2 walls. I love its size. There's room for everything without taking an entire room. The desk arrived in 5 days after ordering but the keyboard drawer was broken. The faceplate was cracked on both ends. I contacted customer service via email and the issue was resolved within a week! Overstock could have just sent a faceplate but sent an entire new drawer.

The desk looks nice and is definitely an improvement over what we were using. I wish it were a little more sturdy--I don't think it will be an heirloom piece. The box contained no instructions but was able to figure out how it went together. I have not seen another computer desk I liked any better so I have no reqrets with this purchase. Also, hats off the the UPS delivery man.

It's exactly what we were looking for with the exception of a couple of drawers, which I can do something else about. It's a great desk! My keyboard tray has a small crack on it, but it isn't anything big and doesn't hurt the function. Really like this desk!

My desk arrived in fair shape - attributable more to delivery than packing, I think. The keyboard drawyer needed to be repaired before we could set it in place. It's since provide to be delicate and comes off the track easily. The drawers aren't very sturdy, either. It looks good, though and offers loads of workspace. If you're rough on furniture this probably isn't the piece for you.

This desk was delivered in a timely manner in one box. Assembly was easy. Only two minor problems: front piece on left drawer was broken, and front piece of wood on keyboard tray was bowed. I contacted O Customer Service, sent pictures and within days I received the replacement parts. The desk is stained and finished beautifully to a smooth, deep golden honey color. We also ordered the coordinating chair (which sold out quickly after we ordered it). The desk surface provides plenty of work space and also plenty of leg room underneath. We are so happy to have ordered this desk!

The desk arrived in a box that was really dusty and beaten up. I was nervous to open it. Everything was fine except the piece of wood under the drawers and keyboard tray was broken off. It was attached by long staples so I straightened them and hammered it back in. After assembling the desk I had to add a screw to keep the piece of wood in place. Overall, this desk is really sturdy and nice looking. It took approximately 20 minutes to put together after unpacking it. Make sure you follow the instructions.

I love the look and design of this desk. It is sturdy, which does equate to heavy so if you have someone to help you carrying up stairs that would be a good thing. The only problem I had assembling it was that they sent 2 different size screws and didn't tell you which screws went where. Of course I got it wrong and I ended up punching through the back of the desk with one of the long screws and now there is a hole there. Of course if I stopped and thought about it I probably could have figured it out! It is a definite buy!

This desk, once assembled, is beautiful and very strong and sturdy. The only problem I had was with the slide out keyboard drawer. It was not packed well, and when I took the desk top out of the box, the drawer slide backwards into the unit and broke off the front lip of the tray (which I was able to repair with wood glue and a little matching stain.) So be careful when you unpack as the drawers are all in place, and not secured. Other than that, with a little patience and remembering to read the directions first, the desk was fairly easy to assemble. It is all hardwood, and the desk top is very very sharp looking. This is a great size for a PC and also has plenty of room for writing bills, taking notes, etc. And for the price, you can't beat it! And UPS deserves a big Thank You, for delivering to my house, which is back an 800 foot farm lane - in the ice and snow. The driver had to park at the road and he pushed this huge box all the way back to my house on a dolly. I was amazed it was delivered on such a day! All is all, it's a great product.
