Absolutely wonderful coffee - the very best!!!!! Easy to use and takes up little counter space.
This machine makes a wonderful cup, however when making the purchase, I was not aware that I would be required to buy the Nespresso coffee capsules at .55 apiece. It is a simple machine to use and the capsules do minimize hassle and mess cleanup. However, if you like to grind your own, this machine will not work for you.
we ordered a second one for our Mountain house, although it's slightly different than the one I ordered from Nepresso directly, it's great and we love the machine hands down.
this product far exceeded my expectations. got it for my husband for christmas, and he loves it. easy to use and seems to be well-built. would highly recommend for people who want great espresso/cappuchino at home but don't have the skill or desire to operate a traditional machine.
I purchased this Espresso machine for my husband two years ago. He makes Espresso for himeself every day and is very pleased with the machine. It has a sleek and compact design which fits well on our limited counter area. We have found the machine to be very durable, easy to work and even easier to keep clean. The espresso is delicous and we love the convenience of the canisters. It also makes froth that's light and full. We have just purchased the same machine for our son as a holiday gift . We highly recommend this product.
Makes a really good cup of espresso. After using this same machine at our friend's house in France, we knew we had to get one when we came home! We have not used the frother as of yet, but our espresso comes out perfectly every time, hot, with just the right amount of froth. It is a little on the noisy side when in use, but that only lasts for less than a minute! A really excellent cup of espresso for the money!
Really enjoying my Nespresso each morning. Nice job (Overstock) in keeping such useful products on stock. First time going through Overstock and my order went without a hitch.
I did a lot of research on Nespresso models, and a family member had the C190, which I originally wanted for its features and simplicity, but it's only available as a refurb, so I ¿compromised¿ and bought the D290. So far, a week into it, we love it, and are averaging 4-8 shots per day. The ¿manual¿ is poor (mostly pictures, little text), but making a good cappuccino with the D290 is so simple that anyone should be able to do it the first time. The only down side is that my two border collies now flip-out every time I make coffee due to the pump noise, though not quite as bad as when I used to grind my own coffee.
We looked at lots of machines and reviews before we bought this machine. The pods make great, very fresh espresso. After our first month, we still haven't figured out the right technique for how to make good frothed milk for capuccinos (the Nespresso web site and papers that accompanied the machine are not particularly instructive as to how to properly froth using their steam device). D290 has easy clean up. All in all a great deal of value in a very simple machine.
This very stylish machine makes a great coffee and it comes with excellent support and documentation. I could not get yet a great cappuccino and will work more on that. The coffee selection is really good - a bit on the pricey side, but worth the money. Web purchase for the coffee capsules is simple and delivery is very fast. Net net, a pleasure for the eye, a new dimension for the coffee - and you have to pay for that! But definitely worth
It's the best solution so far for good coffee in the urban environment
D290 pros include: * Looks great. * Makes great cappuccinos with attachment * Easy to clean * Lots of loverly crema. Cons include: * Price (but Overstock had the best price) I can't really speak to the durability, except that I've had it about 3 weeks and have had no problems; it does look durable.
My husband and I both really enjoy our Nepresso machine. We love trying all the different flavors. At first, it was somewhat hard to figure out but now that we got it all is well. It is quite easy to operate now and I love it!
I have no other experience with espresso makers for comparison, but this one rocks! It looks good on the counter but has a lot of plastic so can't give it 5 stars. I do think the plastic is very durable and makes the machine lighter though, so is appropriate material. It is easy to use and very easy to clean up. Using the milk steamer for latte makes it relatively slow to make the drink because it takes a minute or so to switch gears from the milk function back to the espresso function. It also adds to clean up time, but no big deal. Be sure not to suck your milk cup dry or you will cause spattering. Also, run the espresso function once without a capsule to warm up the machine, especially if you keep you house cold like mine! I put my regular coffee maker away and almost only drink espresso and an occasional cup or two of regular coffee using only my French press. It is cheaper than Starbucks, but not a lot because you have to use Nespresso capsules and so only get a pretty small drink out of the machine (about 6 oz or less including milk). The capsules are good (use those rated 8+ for drinks with milk), but I don't like being force into a monopoly and prefer to buy shade grown coffee. I drink 4 shots per morning (usually as lattes) at a cost of 50-60 cents a shot + shipping. I guess you have to pay for perfection in a cup. This machine does a great job if you can afford it and I am happy overall with mine. Overstocks.com had the best price around in Nov 2007 after an extensive search.
It is simple...Quick, Fast and Easy! A great cup of Cappucino and expresso with crema. Still not sure as to durability but with the enjoyment of expresso so quick fast and easy it is sure to be tested. Enjoy and Cheers!
I love the machine. It makes lattes as good as, if not better, than those purchased from the local barista for a fraction of the price. If you have a daily habit, it's well worth the price. The directions that come with the machine are not very useful. I had to go to the company website and watch the video in order to learn how to use the machine. However, once you have it down it makes great lattes and cappuccino.
I have researched the price of this particular espresso machine and Overstock has the best price. Our friends have similar models and my husband and I purchased this item for an anniversary gift to ourselves. Customers should be aware that the coffee is expensive, but if you enjoy quality espresso then you will definitely appreciate this machine.
Love this little machine. Compact, stylish, and makes excellent espresso. It took for a while how to use frothing parts, once figured out, it is very easy to use. Recommended.
There product manual seems to have been written mainly for other countries to fully understand and could have more instructions on how to use. I bought the machine to make steamers more than expressos. I had done what little the manual had showed me to do and I could not get my caramel steamer drink. I am not much of a coffee drinker, so I was looking forward to my steamers. Needless to say I am not a happy customer of the Nepresso.
