I received my Nespresso CitiZ espresso from overstock with serious cosmetic damages. Both sides on the front are missing paint or the finish. Why would overstock not quality control their products. The instructions inside said if there is a problem DO NOT call the retailer you purchased from but to call Nesprsso directly and they would replace. I called Nespresso and they told me to contact the retailer I purchased from. Another BS company claiming they guarantee the product and to call them with any problems and when you do they dishonor their word and tell you to call the retailer.
Refurbished doesn't mean used or broken! We love this machine! It works great and was the perfect girt for my husband. I purchased the extra warranty, just in case, but it was still less expensive than buying the machine new. I'm pretty sure the machine had never been used, just returned because the factory seals were still on. Great purchase!
I was leary of buying a refurbished product, but this is, as the description indicated, so fully refurbished or a new product that was returned for some reason that it seems perfectly new to us. We are loving the quality of the coffee and the ease of use. The cost, at $1 a cup, seems a little high, so we also purchased the refillable capsules and are able to use the pounds of coffee beans purchased for other coffee machines we have tried in the past. A great deal for a great produce!

I have tried nearly every espresso maker and coffee on the market, and have never been able to truly recreate the espressos you get at nearly any café in France or Italy. I've owned very expensive machines and brought espresso back from Europe, but no dice. A few years ago I was staying at a Waldorf property, and they had a Nespresso machine in the hotel room. I made a cup the first morning, and was so pleasantly surprised. Wonderful, smooth espresso that was foamy and didn't have the bitter after-taste of all machines/beans I'd tried in the US. Nespresso machines can be a little pricey, however you are able to buy refillable pods now, so you do not have to worry that it will only use Nespresso-brand coffees. If you do go that route, the coffee itself is easily purchased directly from the manufacturer's website, and arrives within 2 days, in my experience. There are always promotions, so you can generally find a reasonable price. The machine itself has a very narrow profile on my countertop. The only negative is that it is very deep (i.e. with the back against the wall, it still sticks out further than most of my other small electrics.) Make sure you look at the dimensions in the description, so you're not surprised. All in all, a fantastic purchase. Several months after buying the CitiZ, I bought a milk frother/steamer from Nespresso. Between the two gadgets, hands down the best cappuccino I have had "Stateside"!
This makes a wonderful cup of coffee and I use it mostly for lattes. This is the second refurbished one I have bought -- the first was a gift for my daughter. If you love espressos, you'll get great use out of this. It does not take up a large footprint in the kitchen either.
