Could you tell me what the 5 power settings are in degrees and wattage. Thank you so much. Ladyz
Have only used it a couple of times. It worked just fine. That is after we found pots that would work on it. Found a pan and a pot by using the magnetic card that came with it. If you use an electric stove it would be great, however we have a gas stove sitting next to the cabinet where we plug it in. The gas stove seems to heat everything just as quick. So we can't get too excited about it. However if you use electric or have a small apartment go for it. The ad said good for dorms etc, it would be. Plus Overstock price is much cheaper than TV or a big box store....

This Nesco Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency.
ITEM#: 14083934This Nesco Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency. Induction cooking uses induction energy to heat the cooking vessel directly compared to typical cooking resources like gas or electric coil that transfer heat from the source to the cooking vessel. Induction cooking uses less energy, provides practically instant heat and since there are no open flames or hot coils, is safer to use than conventional burners. Heat is generated at the cookware only so the cook top stays cool. It allows for instant control of cooking energy for precise cooking control. This works as advertised, but be very careful, do not turn this burner on until you are ready to place the food in the pan. It will burn Pam spray in a heartbeat. Really like the way it works.Read More
Very happy with purchase. You will need to get induction cookware.Read More
Bought this for summer and occasional use. With appropriate (steel-bottomed) cookware works as expected, recommended to my sister for use on her boat b/c no flame. A little noisy, but I don't want to turn on burners for a long time in DC summers, it takes about 15-20 minutes to boil 6 qts. of water, varying between medium and highest settings....This is easy to clean, wipes down easily b/c it's all sealed. I'm satisfied with this purchase.Read More

Questions & Answers
Hello joenic623, the 5 power settings are C1- Melt/Warm, C2- Simmer, C3- Boil, C4- Fry and C5- Sear. The degrees are not listed in the Use and Care Manual, but it is mentioned that "there will be a learning curve understanding what each Cooking Mode will provide in terms of performance with your cookware. The total wattage is 1500 as mentioned in the product details. We hope this helps, and thank you for shopping with us.
What are the actual temperature settings for the power settings. I need to know the lowest temperature setting. I already have a very good portable induction cooker, and it's lowest setting is 150 degrees, which is too high some times.
Hi iamasking, the lowest setting is Melt/Warm up to about 100 F. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!
What is the maximum size pan for use with this or what is the diameter of the heating element?
Thank you for contacting us.The unit size is 14" L x 11.5" W by 2.31" H and would therefore easily accommodate up to a 10" Fry Pan or Skillet. There is no heating element per se inside this unit. Instant heat heats up the cookware with an "electromagnetic current' inside the unit. The area around the cooking vessel stays cool to the touch. The affective heating area is about 9.3 inches, I am sure that the 10 inches pan you reference below is fine. For instance a larger sauté pan could be used because the actually surface in contact with the induction portion of the cooker is actually less than the pan’s stated size, for instance you might have a 12 inches sauté pan but only 8 inches is only in contact with the element, basically the diameter of the bottom of the pan. Please let me know if you have any further question.
If this product does not come with a power cord as it states, then how does it work?
We apologize for the confusion. This item comes with a power cord.
Does this Induction cooktop have a timer also
We are sorry, but we do not know whether or not this cooktop has a timer. We will try to find out and post a reply as soon as possible.
