How thick is the foam cushioning? I know that the description says 9" seat deck, but that doesn't clarify if there are springs, thickness of foam, etc. I'm trying to determine the comfort I can expect and there was a negative review in that area. I'm hoping it is just a matter of breaking the mattress in.

I bought this thinking it looked nice and comfortable. It's HARDER then my hardwood floors, it's very uncomfortable, it took 3 hours to put this crap together. I still can't figure out the "skirt". The final product looks NOTHING like the photo, other then the color- of course. Oh and not to mention the sound of metal being smashed together with each click of the bed to raise the chaise/sofa or to put them back down flat. Never again will I buy something from this site, sorry guys.Read More
I was recently in the market for a new couch, and wanted to be able to convert it into a bed for friend-crashing purposes. Also, I was not looking to take out a loan. This piece really fits the bill. It ships in two boxes, each containing one half of the sofa/futon.The two raw halves are covered in black felt-like material, which you will eventually cover with your chosen color. The two futon halves are held together at three points at which you screw on metal pieces. Performing this step, along with applying the futon's main legs, takes about 30 minutes and can be performed by one person with a little persistence. Next, you stretch the futon cover over the entire frame, which involves about 100 times the amount of velcro manipulation you'd expect to perform on any other average day. Patience with this part of the assembly process is critical to ensure that the final result looks good. I can also say, however, that you will not really want to remove the cover (particularly the side-lining), once you've managed to get it on and well-aligned with the frame. Someone would have to puke on it, maybe twice, to motivate me to take it off and wash it. In the end I'd probably try to order a new cover, if I was compelled to go through the trouble of taking it off in the first place. That aside, this futon looks very nice, sits 3-4 people very comfortably, and performs perfectly well as a spare bed when needed. For its price, I would be surprised if you could do any better. I would just say that if you're planning to drink red wine on this thing, buy the wine-colored version.Read More
My son has been wanting a futon forever but it seems that most futtons have uncomfortable mattresses and are way to short when in an open position. Knowing my son will be at least 6ft tall I didn't want to purchase something that his feet and/or head will eventually hang over. The generous length and the fact that there aren't any stationary arms, gives this futton the desired length necessary. It looks really cool in his room which now appears more as a sitting area with his xbox when his friends come over and with a couple cube ottomans I bought also from overstock the look of his room is complete. The workmanship and value at this point are outstanding and I really like the possibility for taking off the cover to be able to clean. All and all I am very pleased with this purchase and what it even better is my 16 year old son feels the same!!Read More
I'm pleased with my purchase. wish it had arms;I didn't realise how much I would miss them , but I'm getting used to it. The only problem for me was getting the cover on it- all that velcro makes it a little tricky.Read More
I bought this chair to keep on my second floor for my mother who was coming out of the hospital. Installation was easy except for the velcro strip around the edge. It does not fit and very noticeable once it's all put together. After a month, my daughter plopped down on it and one of the front legs broke off. Now that side is being supported by phone books. The The front legs are plastic and not supportive. The mattress is comfortable.Read More
The directions for assembling the product are not clear. The pictures are not helpful. I didn't bother to call for assembly help. Instead I got a friend who had a click clack to help me assemble it. Suggest-a label on each half showing how to orient the pieces for assembly. The label on location of compartment is helpful. Also directions did not explain how to change positions-i.e. two steps thus the name click-clack. Have not slept on it yet. Comfortable to sit onRead More
I am a competent furniture-assembler. This item was way too difficult to assemble and the cover didn't fit. Sorry, but this is not a product I would recommend to anyone. I don't enjoy bashing, but am trying to help other potential buyers.Read More
I regret to say that I have been very disappointed with this product. I have purchased this futton/couch for my daughter that was in a process of moving away from home. For that reason, my husband and I did not unpack it, but left it for my daughter to open the package at her new appartment. Alas, what a dissapointment! Metal legs for the futton were not in the package, nor the pillows that were supposed to be used as arm rests. This futton now sits on the floor in her living room. I have made many purchases from overstock over the years and have never been disappointed before, but this is not acceptable! What are you going to do about it and how are you going to mend this business faux paux?Read More

Best Kid-friendly Fabric for Sofas
Finding the right sofa and loveseats that match your room, have the right look and meet your budget can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. If kid-friendly fabrics are on your must-have list, start by looking below. This article will help you find the best kid-friendly fabrics for sofas, which should repel stains and hold up to added abuse from children jumping, scooting and forgetting to remove their shoes before hopping on the sofa. Microfiber: Microfiber is stain-resistant and comes in different textures. Some microfiber weaves are smooth, like suede, and others are denser, similar to corduroy. You may clean most microfiber with water, but check the manufacturer's tag because a few types of microfiber may require cleaning with a compatible solvent. Wool: For sofas, wool and wool blends are great because of their durability. They're less prone to pilling, snagging and wrinkling than other fabrics. Plus, wool is easy to spot-clean. Vacuum this natural fabric with a hand-held vacuum attachment to remove dust. Leather: Leather is a versatile sofa fabric; it can be elegant or totally casual. Its slick surface makes cleanups relatively easy. Beware if you have pets, as little claws can leave scratch marks. Scuff-repair solutions are available, and they can keep your kids' sofa looking good for years. In addition, a quick treatment with leather conditioner once or twice a year will keep the sofa soft and supple. Vinyl: Vinyl is just as versatile as leather and often has the same smart look, but at a much more affordable price. It's easy to clean, too: just spray it with water and wipe spills away. Vinyl isn't as snuggly as microfiber, but in a playroom, it will hold up to lots of abuse. Denim: Just because a sofa is upholstered in denim doesn't mean it'll look like your worn-out jeans. Just like a comfy pair of jeans, denim is sturdy and goes with everything. In addition, denim sofas are available in a rainbow of colors to match your kids' bedrooms or playroom.
