I love this stool. It is a work of art and looks like it came out of a Japanese temple. Despite the scrapes on the elm wood slab seat, which adds to the rustic character, the stool looks great at the island in my eclectic kitchen. The design and heavy weight assure that it will not tip over when my toddler grandson climbs up on it.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? More natural elm seat color than photo showed. Iron base looks more like pewter.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Scratches and scrapes on seat, which is a gorgeous slab of elm tree. Bottom of one iron leg is uneven and sharp, which neccesitates a felt pad to protect the floor.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Description should have said that this stool is heavy, heavy, heavy.
I ordered 2 of these stools for my kitchen counter. When i opened both, the finishes on the wood were different and the colour of the metal legs were also different. It felt like the first barstool was finished and the second barstool was forgotten about finishes and packed up. It had unstained wood with rough surface all over. I was happy to receive them before a party next week end, but now i have to hide them in the basement until i figure out how to return them. I shop online to save time, but i guess I had to compromise on the quality. I have heard good things about the customer service and had a good personal experience with them earlier when i had a pricing conflict. I am hoping the return of the unfinished barstool will also turn out to be easy. Will comment again on the return process after i go through with it. The style of the stools was awesome and would still recommend it hoping your order will not get messed up like mine.
We ordered 4 stools. One came in with a broken foot, however Overstock immediately took care of this and got us a replacement part. This was our first order with Overstock and their customer service has been superb. The stools are a little bigger than what the picture lead us to believe, but still very impressive and we're even more happy with them as we were wanting something that would last. Our friends have really liked the look of them and they are very comfortable. These stools wont fall apart anytime soon even with kids jumping on them.
Not cheap but the most well made counter stool I have found. The frame is steel and the seat a solid block of wood.VERY comfortable without any pad or seat cover.Look just like ad and come with leg adjustments to eliminate any rocking. The welds are very well done and I have found no sharp edges. The feet have pads to protect my tile floors. These are COUNTER HEIGHT stools not Bar stools and fit my kitchen island perfectly.I'm 6 ft 1inch and 250 lbs and have no concerns plopping down on one of these. Before purchase ask the next generation how they feel about these stools as they will inherit them as will their children.REALLY made to last.Oh yeah I bought 2 of them.VERY HAPPY with this product!
I ordered 3 myrna counter stools. two were delivered in acceptable condition, however the leg protectors did not fit properly and I had to install my own. The third stool was not centered on the legs plus it had very rough wood and splinters. I sent it back. Of course it was then out of stock. I waited several weeks and finally was able to order a third one. It arrived and after close inspection found a large chunk of wood on top of the seat had apparently been knocked off and then glued back on. I feel the inspection of these stools needs to be improved substantially. The stools are very cool but the overall condition and hassle to return detracts from them being desirable.
So beautiful. Unusual and artsy. These heavy stools replaced flimsy ones at my kitchen island I have looked for something special and after years of looking love them. Elm wood and iron are beautiful together but may require felt pads on legs to prevent scratching floors but worth it
