Multifunction Computer Desk Workstation

The workstation was well packed, relatively free from manufacturers defects, and came with fairly clear instructions for assembly. The issues - both good and bad. Overall quality of the workstation is excellent. The shelves are well constructed with the vinyl covering over substrate very nicely applied. The metal frame is nicely finished and smooth at joints with a nice overall appearance. The various parts are precise and fit together well. Overall a good value for the money. The fastener systems can be a bit tricky in putting the workstation together. Screws intended to engage previously inserted holders do not always line up. It is necessary to twist the inserts at times to permit positive engagement. The hanging basket is a bit of a mystery as well. The clips in the front work well enough but permit no adjustment. In fact, I have had to undo the entire structure as my monitor is too tall and the lack of adjustment will require local fabrication to permit use. The keyboard tray does not provide enough clearance for keyboards using the rear elevators or in my case, an ergonomic keyboard commonly purchased from Microsoft. The keyboard tray is also too small to permit use of the mouse on the tray making a very inconvenient set up of trying to reach the mouse on the main level desk top when in use. A bit more planning would have permitted a much better user experience. The keyboard tray is also too high. Even with my desk chair extended to max height the tray is still too high for comfortable ergonomics. The pull out desk drawer is a bonus. The included one was damaged but a very easy to use website and immediate customer service quickly supplied a new one. The manufacturer response is to be commended. The side mounted CD holder seems antiquated. Not a whole lot of CDs in use these days and it would have simply taken up extra space for no good reason. The manufacturer could drop this and perhaps save a few bucks or supply better design elsewhere. Overall a good value for the price. Well made and sturdy. Fix the design shortcomings and it would be an outstanding product. Overall , a nice unit for the price.
