mostly okay
Bought this reluctantly after trying to find a step can priced reasonably. It's a little small--especially the opening. The lid closes in the middle of trying to scrape a plate or drop in a teabag (very messy). Also, it opens every time anyone comes anywhere near it, so it has to be put somewhere out of the traffic pattern of your kitchen or it will wear itself out opening for no reason. Finally, the bag hangs outside of the can, so the nice, stainless and black look is messed up with the white bag cuff. Not thrilled with this purchase.

great value! 2 cans for the price of 1
These trash cans are great. They hold a lot more trash than your standard 13 gal trash can. The ring holds the bag securely inside the trash can. because of this great feature you are not likely to have spills or torn bags. The sensor really do work. All you have to do is move your hand acroos the trash can and it opens and closes automatically;no touching at all. They were a great value as well.

I highly recommend these trash cans. The sensor on the Kitchen Trash Can stopped working after a few weeks however I called the customer service number that was included with the shipment and they sent me a replacement lid within a week! They even paid for the return for the defective lid. If you are still using traditional trash cans it's time to get modern. These are the cans for you! ;) Nine Stars gets 5 stars!

stainless steel motion sensor trash can
I was skeptical about buying a trash can online, but this one is exactly as described and pictured. The price is great compared to other sites and the small trash can included is a bonus. It's very sleek looking and takes up less space than my last trash can. I also like the hands free feature.

terrific buy
I thought these trash cans were great, right from taking them out of the box!! What a great buy! I have 3 cats and 1 dog that really enjoy getting into the trash at night. Since I have had these, not once have they knocked them over!! I was a little worried at first because I had to replace the batteries in the bathroom can within 2 weeks...However, after that replacement, I haven't changed them again. And the kitchen can is still on it's first set of batteries (I have had the cans 1 year)!! And believe me, it gets used A LOT! :-) Would highly recommend these to anyone!

Do not recommend!!!
Do not buy this product! I have seen other reviewers write the same. Once the batteries die the trash can quits working. I put new batteries in and it still would not work. Piece of junk!! I maybe would have left a nicer review but after contacting Overstock customer support, I was given the warranty phone number for the manufacturer, Nine Stars Group. After keeping me on hold for 5 minutes it gives you voice mail saying customer care is not available, please leave a message. No one available to address the issue. Crappy trash can, crappy company with crappy customer service.

Hands free is great
I've punched this before - twice in fact.... call me a dummy but I liked the design. I've had problems in the past with the lid opening completely unless I had it at the right angle - strange but true - but.... this one works perfectly.... so I am a happy camper!!!

This trash can is great
So far so good. I've had the peddle type trash can in the past. The peddle broke on the last can within three years. So if this can lasts only 1 1/2 years I've lost nothing. The sensor works great. The timer for keeping the lid open is only a few second before it closes. However I've noticed that if my hand or an object is over the sensor, it remains open. Tall kitchen bags fit snugly in the can. The bag doesn't move around and removes easily. Nice thing is that the bag is completely full when removed. No need for it to sit around to fill up.

This set looks great and works perfectly. I love the convenience. The kitchen unit is the perfect size and seals in odors. The smaller one is an added bonus. It looks nice in my bathroom and works perfectly. What a great deal.
