We purchased this dinette set less than a year ago, and already some of the chairs are so wobbly that we had to fix them with wood glue. They are pretty, and look nice in our living room, and were relatively inexpensive, but I expected a little bit better. Ikea furniture holds up better.
It took some time to assemble, but it is a great deal. I wanted something simple that looks nice and is functional. I would reccommend the set to my friends.
The table cleans up well, and easily. Smaller than I realized, but that's my own fault. The chairs are the only con. The screws are constantly coming loose, and we have to screw them back tighter, but it has reached the point where they can't really screw in anymore and will always be just a little loose. Not a major problem per se (just really annoying), but they could become dangerous and/or unusable someday. The table itself gets 4 stars, but the chairs get a 1-2, so I gave the overall rating a 3. If the chairs were up to standard, I would have given this set a 5 star rating.
It comes in a very large, heavy flat box and literally takes a full day to assemble. Mine arrived damage with 2 large punctures through the box, styrofoam and top of the table, probably from a lifting device either at the warehouse or in shipping. But they were quick to send a replacement. The first one, on assembly ,I was missing 2 large screws for the fourth/final chair, had two short ones instead, which does not work. I haven't had a full day yet to set aside and assemble this one. But it's what I wanted small, contemporary looking and at a good price.
While this small dining set looked great and is cheap, it's not worth even the $3 shipping fee. The table is fairly good, but the chairs are ridiculously cheap and rickety. My husband and I put them together. No, it wasn't fun, but I've assembled worse **** furniture. The problem was the chair construction. Even tightening the screws loosley, the wood on one of the chairs broke. Now, a week later, all four chairs are extemely wobbly and coming apart. I don't even want to sit on one. We re-tightened all of the screws, but it didn't help. This set looks nice, but pay a little bit more money and get something that will last more than a week.
The table looks really nice, and it's a good size. I bought the table for the small dining nook in my new apartment and it fits the space really well. My dad assembled it all, and it took about 45-60 minutes per chair, so be prepared to spend a little time on the assembly.
It is correct that it takes some time to put the set together, but once it is put together correctly and tightened fully the entire set seems very sturdy. I had a friend help and the chair he put together seemed wobbly, the problem was that in the directions they ask not to tighten the pieces too firmly-so he left them a bit loose to be safe. Once we went back and tightened everything up- all was sturdy. The size is great for my small dining room and the seat cushions are very comfy.
was easy to assemble and looks great! Great price too!
Great product, like the look and feel. Lot's and lot's of screws to get it together but the end result is exactly what we were looking for.
This is the best bang for your buck - the chairs are really comfortable and the table is solid construction. Assembly was relatively easy (though we had a power tool, which helped!) Overall I'm very happy with it - I'm getting married next year and won't be adding a new dining room table to my registry because this one rocks!
Although relatively easy to put together, the chairs are not sturdy. When I attempted to tighten the bolts around where the weak spots were, it resulted in the wood cracking. The table is sturdy and looks good, however I'm going to be inclined to replace the chairs since I don't want anyone sitting on them only to fall apart. I would highly suggest Overstock remove this product from their assortment.
One of the legs broke on the table the first day I used it. Now, three of the four chairs are broken after just three months of gentle use. I would not recommend this product!! Extremely poor quality!
It takes 2 some hours to assemble --not too complicated, but a pain in the neck; you kinda feel like taking a break in the middle cuz it takes so long. Once you set it up, it looks pretty good, but the problem is the quality of the chairs. I had friends over the next day I assembled the set, and within 3 hrs, all four chairs broke in different places. I wouldn't even be so shocked if any of them were on the heavy set side, but everyone that set on the chairs were on the below avg weight... It's a cheap set, and I guess you get what you pay for. I have to go out and buy chairs for $75-$100 a piece now... should've at least gotten a better quality table with the moeny if i knew i was gonna buy them separately
Delivery time was rather slow. Took nearly 2 weeks to come home! While the table is sturdy, the chair is not. Very flimsy & delicate, as if it'd crumble if a heavy person sits on it. The seat is pretty comfortable, however. Good fit for a small dinning room in an apt
This black table and chairs looks like it cost a whole lot more than it did. It was easy to assemble and looks great. The size is perfect as well.
I bought this for my son's condo and we both love it. It needed to be small but useable for a small dining area. The fit was great.
