This is a wonderful value.....regular placemats do not look good on my oval table...edges touch...these round ones are perfect...I was not disappointed. I ordered two sets so I could have extra placemats and I'm giving the extra runner away.
As far as the colors and worksmanship, these placemats and runners are top-notch. The are thick and lay nicely (not bunching up.) The threads are all woven together beautifully with no loose edges. The colors are beautiful, more vibrant than in the picture. One thing I wasn't expecting though was the smallish size. I haven't actually measured them, but most dinner plates would probably cover the placemats in their entirety. The runner is relatively short, as well. Since we weren't planning on using them for a table setting, it all worked out, but before buying, I'd recommend really measuring your table and table settings to make sure this is the set you want.
