Would recommend this, but not assembled!
We are very happy with this item. Have bought through overstock many many times. didn't use the island part as we already have an island in our kitchen. Just wanted a black accent to finish off our kitchen and needed a little more cupboards. The top is very nice, but they filled a couple of scratches with filler and showed a little bit. I am pretty fussy so I used a little black paint & small paint brush to fix it. Looks great now and no one can tell it was there. My Husband couldn't see it to begin with and thought it was ok the way it was. Will need help moving the boxes to put together. Would not recommend it to single woman unless she is very strong. Great quality!!!

Great Island for small space
I had been looking for an island to fit my small kitchen and low and behold overstock came through. The island looks like a fine piece of furniture in the kitchen, it is able to hold a bread-maker, crockpot, toaster and mixer with room to spare. The black wood is very consistent throughout. The wood top is very good quality. The directions were well written and all parts included. How long does it take to put together? Plan on at least 2 hours with two people (maybe because we took a few coffee breaks). I do have to say that one small part was broken due to shipping and overstock was able to contact the company have the part shipped without any questions or problems. I now have complete faith in overstock to resolve any potential issues.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? the distressed black wood is perfect. The wood top is a little darker than expected but is perfectly fine, very rich looking.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. good quality, the base is very sturdy and the top is high quality
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Good description. I had wished overstock showed me a photo of the cabinets opened, I had to search elsewhere to find that info.
