I spent a good 30 mins trying to get the screws to line up with the holes without them falling out. After following the directions, I determined that it must have taken a village to make this product look amazing in the photographs. If this product came pre-assembled, or was blown glass, it would be worth it. Now I understand why it was relatively cheap. Don't waste your time, or money. Unless of course you have five little sets of hands to help you with assembly.
After assembling this lamp, which was not the least bit easy, my husband said "Every so often you buy a cluncker and this lamp is a cluncker." Perhaps in the exactly perfect home, this lamp would fit in. In our home, it jumped out at you as the only thing in the room. The lamp is wobbly after being assembled, once that hellacious process of assembly had been completed. I am still a fan of O.com, but this lamp has to go back!
I actually love this lamp. It sheds a very warm, soft light and is a unique and dramatic piece in the corner of the bedroom. I give it only a Good rating because it is more of a visual piece than a quality piece -- so long as you understand what you're purchasing, I think it's a great decorating addition.
When I received this product, the metal rod on the lamp part was bent at an odd angle and the accompanying screws were missing. When I attempted to return it, I was told it was out of stock. I really like the design of the lamp so I just bent the metal back into place as best I could and used a combination of a hot glue gun and fabric rivets to try to replace the missing screws. The assembly of this lamp is a nightmare but it is pretty once it is set up.
Online the lamp looks lovely. Since calla lilies are my favorite flower I was excited to receive my order....until I opened the package and was disappointed to find an oval sheet of thin plastic (similar to Contact paper but a little stiffer) with a cheap-looking wood grain pattern (I ordered the natural color and believe I would have been just as disappointed with the other option). I ordered two. Never opened the second box. Both are going back.
