Was very excited to receive this item..because it had been out of stock for a while...and the reviews were overall very good. The modern lines of this LEM style chair were exactly what I was looking for.I had some initial concerns about the wood (looks cheap or plasticy in the picture, but decided to take a chance. I was disappointed when the wood looked just as fake in person. Even a friend that came over said it looked fake. I believe it is real; it's just a thin veneer that looks cheap. The wood did not align well with the metal frame and protruded in some areas and the frame did not sit level on the base. It was at least a 1/2 inch higher on one side than the other.The overall construction of the chair was sound, but the base was a little wobbly. The chrome on the base looked a little cheap as well, but the piston system worked well and smoothly.I promptly returned the two I purchased and because the problems were considered manufacturing defects, Overstock is paying for the return shipping. So, while I wasn't please with the purchase, I'm very pleased with Overstock's willingness to take them back with no questions asked.

We purchased two of these stools for our kitchen island. They are the perfect ones, sturdy, attractive, and exactly as promoted on the website, plus the height can be adjusted! I wanted a stool that didn't have a high back so it would slide under the counter top plus when you're seated on it, you could turn all the way around. These barstools are just perfet for us. Thanks.

These barstools gave my living space the modern look I desired. I was working with a small area and these stools gave it a more open and functional use of my counter area. I am very pleased with my first purchase with overstock.com.

Let me begin by saying these are a great value. If you are expecting a $500 bar stool, then you probably want to go ahead and shop for a $500 bar stool....These are not them. What you are getting here is a nice looking bar stool that has a nice gas lift adjustable seat and is reasonably sturdy up to about 240 pounds. Obviously, if you have the seat all the way up and let the kids swing around and around on it, you wont be happy, but for a young adult on a budget who is looking for a nice modern looking accent bar stool at a very good price, I have been very pleased and everyone who has come into my kitchen has complemented them. They are comfortable, the wood grain veneer is nice looking and it functions well. The bar to put your feet on is decent but there again, if you use it to "stand" on, Im sure it would break. If you have reasonable expectations, you will be happy. If you expect it to be industrial strength, you will not.

Nice piece, looks more expensive than it is. This is more form over function...it is not the most comfortable thing with no back but it look great! Incredibly easy to set up.

I bought these stools and love them! They came in perfect condition, easy to put together and look fantastic! I would recommend these stools. You do not necessary to buy them from high-end local store. Overstock do bring the same quality and style. Thanks overstock.

Nice look and feel, the veneer wood finish looks real. Color of the stools are significantly lighter than expected, but still look great. Very easy assembly and comfortable to sit in!

I bought 3 of these stools for my kitchen counter area. They are very modern but expensive looking, something different to what everyone else seems to have. Very easy to assemble. The mixed wood colours on the seats is really lovely - will go with any decor. Geeat purchase - glad I did not go with a more traditional looking stool - they really make give the kitchen a contemporary look.

I bought these stools and love them! They came in perfect condition, easy to put together and look fantastic! I would recommend these stools. The color of the wood is darker and looks better than in the picture. They sell these stools at high end stores in Boston, and this one looks identical, could hardly tell! If you like these, you can't go wrong! get them! :)

For the money, these stools can't be beat. They were super easy to assemble and gave us the contemporary look that we were going for in our kitchen. If you look closely, you can tell that they're not really high-end stools, but for the value and style, you really can't expect more. I would recommend these to anyone that's considering them.

I am really not happy with these chairs. After reading all the great reviews I was confident I was going to be happy with them. But they feel cheep when you sit on them. They are kind of tippy and the finish on the seat has chips on the edges that can snag your clothes. The finish is also incomplete in the corners and the metal has some markings on it that I'm also unhappy with. I would not purchase this item again.

I ordered 4 of the walnut veneer modern adjustible counter/bar chairs. Three were perfect; the fourth was brown plastic. I ordered another to replace the plastic one. I received it today. It was oak, not walnut. I'm now waiting to hear back from customer service to replace it. I'm very surprised this is occurring. I've ordered numerous items in the past from Overstock and was very pleased with everything.

These barstools are a steal. They were well packaged and arrived undamaged. I agree with prior reviewers that there's really no assembly needed. You just unwrap and stick the stool on the base - no screws, no nothing. The pneumatic lift works great - a good range from regular dining chair height to full bar height. The stainless steel looks impeccable. The walnut veneer is stunning. I note that the veneer is matte, not shiny, and is slightly lighter than the photo, but it coordinates beautifully with my ebony floor. There is a slight difference in tone in the walnut veneer between the two stools that I bought, but there's natural variation in any wood and I love that they're unique.

We bought two of these in January and love them so much that I ordered two more. They are a nice touch to any modern decor and work well as bar stools or chairs due to the fact that their height can be raised or lowered through a wide range. We love them and get comments on them all of the time. Buy them--you won't be disappointed!

The barstool is not as rich looking as it is depicted on the website. The stool still looked nice, although it had a few chips and dings on the bottom edge of the seat. I was hoping that it would work with my wood oak floors and dark cabinets, but it didn't even coordinate with the two. I sent this one back and purchased two in the black and they look great at my bar! The seat is very comfortable and the fact that it adjusts and swivels just adds to the overall appeal of the barstool.

These stools are exactly as described by others. They are very nice if you have children--the adjustable height allows me to use them as high chairs at the regular table or adjust seating at the counter height bar. They seem to be sturdy and work well. They are a big hit with my kids. The bottom platform has a ring of rubber that has so far protected my new hardwood floors. The color of the "walnut" wood blends fine with my light maple cabinets and red oak flooring--even though it's not a "match." The seats are comfortable, but the circular indention is not so attractive. The price paid was reasonable, but not the huge bargain everyone else raved about. I saw similar barstools with similar prices in contemporary furniture stores. The stools came super fast and the shipping was unbelievable low. I wouldn't even qualify this stool as needing assembly--all I did was put the chair top on the pole bottom! With all things considered, I am very pleased with them and would purchase them again.
