I looked long and hard for the right size chandelier for our entry way. We were replacing an outdated gold light fixture and wanted something with black iron which proved to be hard to find in the home improvement stores. The simple lines of this chandelier did the trick. It was the right size for our split-level entry way and instantly added more light to the space and gave it a fresh, modern look. Love the cream colored glass. The only down part is the assembly which I found to be way over my head. I ended up passing the task off to our contractor who installed the light. Overall, a great purchase.

Agree that the instructions were skimpy and the diagrams not very good either. I suggest that a person take time to study them before getting started. It took me just over an hour to assemble. I did it alone and would agree that another set of hands would have made it easier. Sitting on the floor and using my knees worked OK. Installation not too difficult. I love the color of the glass. Its prettier than in the the picture. I measured the old fixture and compared it to this one, so I was a little surprised when it seemed smaller than I imagined it would be. I think that's because of its sleek, clean lines and lack of ornamentation. All in all, I'm very pleased with it.

We love this chandelier! Got it a couple days ago and put it together today. It is gorgeous and elegant without being too fussy. Unfortunately, the wire was cut when we received it so that was the first thing we had to fix. Then the print on the instruction sheet was so light I had to use a magnifying glass to catch all the words and rewrite them (some words were missing but we figured it out.) The screw thread that attaches to the single cross mount was too short so we couldn't connect the chandelier to the ceiling and had to go buy one. Agree with all reviews in that it takes 2 people to put it together. Instructions left a lot to your imagination, however, if you proceed logically, should be no problem. The beauty of this chandelier outweighs the problems we encountered.

We had a slight issue with the mounting plates being bent. I contacted Overstock the issue was resolved quite satisfactorily. The chandelier is quite nice and would have cost much more at a local lighting distributor. I gave it 4 stars only because assembly required two people and patience; however being patient in the assembly paid off. Halogen would be a greener option.

I've had this chandelier for the past year with no problems, it's as beautiful as it seem in the picture. If your trying to DIY you may need another person to help you put it up (a girls thought of mind). It took me about an hour to put it together and put it up (with my husband's help). I love it ......

I do really like the look of this light, however I did change the globes to a frosted white because the ones that came with it were darker than they appear to be in the picture. I think the picture shows the globes really lit so when they are not on they were too brown for my room. Otherwise I felt the quality and value were great but my friend, who's a contracter, thought the assembly to be a bit of a pain. I told him that other customer's had said the same thing too. I bought this because I wanted a light for my dining room that was not too dressy but not too casual either and I found this to be the perfect balance.

I bought two of these - for my dining room and breakfast area. This is a very high quality, stylish chandelier. I have received a lot of compliments on it. I found it on the manufacturer's website for twice the amount that Overstock is charging, and they charge shipping on top of that. Note that it comes partially assembled, and you have to take it apart completely in order to put it together. It's a little counter-intuitive, and the directions don't explain that.

I bought this 3 years ago to replace a gaudy 80s style gold chandelier in our dining room when we moved into our house. My husband installed it in under an hour. It still looks beautiful and works very well in the room. We have had no issues with it over the past 3 years.

Light looks great! It did take two people to put together because of some tricky connections; but, my installer (boyfriend!) had it up within about 1.5 hours. I swagged the light over to meet the center of the room. Very happy!

I relied on other reviews before purchasing this product and they were very accurate. This is a lovely fixture that will fit in any home. Mine was built in the 1920's and needed an updated chandelier in the dining room. This one is perfect and I really like the warm glow of the lamps which gives such a wonderful ambiance to the room. I did hire an electrician to put it together and hardwire it. That saved me a lot of hassle and my new fixture was up and working within a half hour. I am very pleased.

Everything about this item, makes it a great buy, the price especially. I window shopped at several lighting stores as well as home department stores like Lowes and the least expensive one like this costed more than twice as much at the light stores. Unfortunately, a very small piece was missing (the canopy loop nut) and we are awaiting the part from China. Although the chandelier is up and working, that canopy cap is askew. Once we get this piece, I'll really rave about it. It's Still awesome.

I was a little concerned about assembly difficulty after reading other reviews. I found that it went together with little trouble and I was able to do it by myself. It looks very nice and I am very happy with it. Just make sure you have the globes straight before you tighten the bulb holders. I had to go back and adjust.

I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE this chandelier! It was a little complicated to get the base part together, but once the electrician figured it out it, he put it together in NO TIME! I think the best part about this fixture is the warm glow from the shades. If you are looking for a good iron chandelier, this is the one for you! :)
