Modern 5-drawer Wood Chest

Such a good buy if you need an affordable cabinet like myself. I bought it because the price was just around the ball park that I was looking for. I didn't expect the item to be such a good quality cabinet. I thought assemly was going to be difficult but everything fit into place just right. It took me an hour because I wanted to make sure that I do it right. All panels were labeled so it was very easy to follow iwht the picture illustration that it comes with. Flimsy, not mine. Mine is very sturdy and stays in place very well, and the drawers are very roomy and slides smoothly. If you can assemble things, this shouldn't be difficult at all. For me, it's a goog buy especially with a bargain price and high quality stuff, I'm good.

Once I got the entire thing assembled it was exactly what I wanted. Getting there was another story. Contrary to other reviews, one person can put this together but it would go much faster with two. It took me about 3 hours total but about 45 minutes of that was spent taking apart the frame after I assembled it and realized that I had 2 brace bars left over. The instructions are accurate but they are comprised of (not very large) drawings with no words so look them over very carefully. I found the material sturdy and solid, with only two minor blemishes in the finish which didn't matter to me since both were on the insides of the drawers. My only gripe is that in the holes for the front of the drawers, the screw holes should have had plastic inserts (like those found on the frame for the crossbeams). Without the inserts, screwing in the bolts cracked the particle board slightly. Ultimately it didn't matter since it was covered up where the sides of the drawer attached but it would still have been preferred. When assembling the drawers, attach one side to the back then insert the bottom panel completely before putting on the other side. That will make sense you do it. Also, don't bother trying to wipe anything down until you are finished, dust just keeps accumulating from the assembly. I wiped a microfiber cloth over everything then ran the vacuum hose over it when I was done and that took care of it. Strangely I had about 30 nails left over, which I triple checked after the brace bar debacle but couldn't figure out their placement. I didn't bother with the wall mount. Tools you will need (which the instructions don't mention): hammer, mallet, philips head screwdriver.

I bought this based on the other reviews on this website. The finished product does look like what is on the website. Do set aside a few hours to assemble the chest. Positives - Metal railings. Trust me, that is a huge plus. Make the chest really easy to use. - Pretty clear assembly directions. - Good looking finished product Negatives - As another reviewer had said, there is a huge amount of packing material to get rid of after you finish assembling the chest - This chest is about around $xx more than comparable chests on other sites. Those probably had plastic railings.

I like how it arrived so fast, and the setting it up only took me about an hour but with taking my time. I took my time to make sure that I assembly it correctly, but it sounds like otheres have had a hard time assembling the item, and from the notes read from other customers they sound frustrated and taking it out on the furniture itself. For me if you just following the directions and of course pay attention to the number on each panel and put it on the right place, you shouldn't have any problem with having a nice sturdy cabinet. There's several pieces that looks similar but thery're not the pre-drilled holes are differect, so I thinks that's where all the problem comes from, from the other customers. But anyways, I'm happy with my chest, I assembled it carefully and got a very nice result just like what I see online. very sturdy, and functional, bettern than expected. I'm glad I bought it.
