I had a KitchenAid mixer years ago but it wasn't a tilt-head so I sold it. Never wanted to spend the $$$ for a new one but saw these refurbished ones on Overstock. At about 2/3 of the regular price, this Artisan mixer is wonderful! Runs smoothly, perfectly mixed up our biscotti dough and came with attachments. The whole package looks brand new and acts like it too! So glad I finally have my KitchenAid Mixer!

I have been using this mill for about 2 months now. The mill is heavy-duty and seems to be made to last. However, it does not produce a fine enough grind to make flour, no matter how many times you put it through the mill. Also, it siezed up and stopped working after the fifth series of grinding. The flours apparently heated and melted/adhered to the gears. It took several hours of scraping after taking it apart to get it working again. I love my Kitchenaid mixer, but would definitely not recommend the mill attachment if your goal is to make flour for baking.

The Mixer looks and works great! There are no problems thus far and it's as if it is a new appliance. Was very excited to receive it. A couple of things, though: 1.) The metal attachments, when they were first out of the box, left a black residue on my hands. I don't know if this is a polish that hadn't been fully removed, or some kind of protective coating that, again, hadn't been fully removed, but it was a bit alarming. 2.) The box the item came in made it VERY obvious that it was a Kitchen Aid Mixer. I live in an apartment building and it is custom (and usually there are no problems...) for the delivery person to leave it outside of my door. Well, the box sat there for three days with a giant picture of the mixer and KITCHEN AID MIXER printed all over the sides of the box! These items are expensive and anyone could've seen what it was a taken it. Thankfully that didn't happen. I know this isn't necessarily a problem with the item, but it was a bit shocking and I figured people would like to know (especially if they live in a neighborhood/building where theft could be a problem). Otherwise, I love using my mixer. It's beautiful, looks brand new, and I love the warranty attached to it! Thanks again!

I love my mixer because it is a great product. I have made 2 batches of cookies and some popovers, and they have all turned out great.

No mistake about it, this is a BIG mixer. So far I've made 2 cakes and 4 loaves of bread. The unit works well, and the 6 quart bowl will handle anything I plan to make. I see that Kitchenaid makes a 7 quart version, but it's hard to imagine that a home cook would ever need that capacity. I've been using my old Sunbeam stand mixer for 30 years and know most of its quirks. It's probably going to take a little more time for me to get completely comfortable with this new powerhouse, but I already love it! Even though it says it is a refubished unit, I can see no sign of previous use. It was a great deal. I am really pleased!

I've had kitchen mixers before and I'll always have one. This is a very good model with plenty of mixing room and sturdy metal attachments. This has a better design for a splash guard than my previous 2 piece splash guard.

Love this item. Originally purchased to relieve my sore arm while making cookies. Warning...this device will blow your diet...why make one batch of cookies in 90 seconds when you can make 2 batches at the same time! Wonderful time saver and arm saver.

I've wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer for YEARS but just couldn't bring myself to spend the money for "just a mixer." I have had this for about three weeks and have used it more than I ever imagined. I use it 2-3 times per week on everything from cheesecakes to cookie dough to sourdough bread!! The red is beautiful and I feel like it is a beautiful trophy sitting on my counter. The clean up is so easy. Totally worth the investiment.

My son loves to cook with his family! I bought them the Kitchen aid mixer for Christmas 2 years ago. WHile at their house this past Christmas we saw the add for the ice cream attachment so I knew I would get that for his birthday! They love it!

I have been looking for a mixer for 2 years. Never wanted to spend so much money(Kitchen Aid is expensive but worth it) so when I saw this one refurbished at such a low price I knew I had to get it. Love, love, love it!!

The unit was a great price and easy to install - only bummer was that it didn't make sheets - why they couldn't of just invented one that could do 2 things that would of been better.

I keep mine in the freezer compartment of my fridge so it is ready at all times. It makes plenty for 2 people to last a week, depending on your appetite. Probably one sitting for a larger family. I like it when it is just out made, like a soft serve. Still trying out recipes , and the fact I control what goes in is big for me , a diabetic. Especially love making it with canned coconut milk !

I purchased this mixer for my girlfriend who is a novice baker generally tired of hand mixing cakes, batter, etc. This is a typical product as would be sold in a box store but not high-end by any means. Her excitement to get started baking before Christmas made this into an early gift. Since it was delivered in 2 business days exceptionally well protected I was plesantly suprised. As with most of our counter-top appliances I was intrigued with the look and feel. Sadly it feels cheaper due to its mostly plastic design and is louder than one would image. This is definitely a small mixer when compared to the 5-6 hundred dollar models. The suction cups do hold the unit to the counter based on its weight but keep an eye on it as they occaisionally come loose and it begins to move. The plastic release button feels firm but I would recommend placing a small amount of pressure on the top in order to allow the release latch to disengage smoothly. The hinge is not spring loaded so careful manipulation in the open position is required. Although enough for young people learning to bake, probably not ideal for the more experienced ones making large quantities or even certain breads. We tried making ... bread and ended up making the dough by hand. After a few minutes the mixer was struggling to turn. However on more simple recipies like cakes, cornbreads, and breakfast items the mixer performed as expected. The small bowl (3 qt. usable) and plastic mixer head is really what brought down my review. Overall not a bad product for what it is but probably will need to be upgraded to an intermediate or professional level mixer within the next few months.

I'm not sure how much it will hold when I bake bread..2 loafs or what but it does 1 loaf really well. Saves my poor worn out hands..

I've used other Kitchenaid standmixers, and found mine to be a little louder than expected, but it is a little more powerful than the ones I've used in the past and it works like a champ. My inaugural usage was to try a new chabbatta bread recipe. I've also made muffins and cookies and it performed very well. My mixer came with the whisk, dough hook and paddle. This season's Farmers Market baking will be a snap! I give it 2 whisks up!

With the purchase of KA's mixer, I thought I would also order the accessories in case we need them. So far, I've used the juicer for a box of oranges we had laying around; and also to make lemonade. Likes: 1) Plastic seems durable. 2) Works Dislikes: 1) Plastic - thought food grade, it would be even BETTER if parts were stainless steel and not plastic, but that would also mean an increase in price if they made steel parts 2) Installation is easy, but because there is no snap lock, you can't be sure you have it installed correctly. The first time I went to juice, I didn't have any issues. The 2nd, time, when I did a longer juicing session, I hear random squeals, which I thought was because of the pressure I applied while juicing. However, that was just one factor. Something was misaligned and the squealing sound I heard was actually the rod grinding with another part. It produced a residue that leached into my juicing. Fortunately, I saw it before it discharged into my vat, so I removed it before it could do any damage. Lesson here is to make sure you align the rod correctly...that leaves room for error. It would be best if the parts 'snapped' into place so you know for sure it's in proper position before use. 3) When juicing you have to apply lateral force to the orange or lemon. That can be very tiring when you have lots of orange halves to go through. It would be a better design to have some sort of lever to allow you to just hold a lever against the spinning juicer. 4) Because of #3, you have to also have one hand on the mixer while, with the other hand, you have to push the orange/lemon on the juicing element. Can be tough on your wrists and hands with larger juicing sessions. I've not tried the sausage attachment to review it.

I've not had it very long but like it very much so far. Used it to mix heavy dough and it works real well. Tried it with 2 pounds of hamburger meat and it had no difficulty at all. Be aware that the Cobalt Blue color is a bit darker than what is shown on the website images. I've got the pasta roller attachment and it works well too.

I had purchased one for my daughter about 2 years ago the 5qt and she loved it. She uses it just about every weekend to bake and make mash potatoes. I'm the one that does all the baking for the holidays, so I finally got the 6 qt. I just love it. As others reviews stated to put the bowl in its a little tricking. I first thought all my god I have to return it but I remembered the reviews and just played with it and it went in. I tested it out and works great. I ordered the side scraper as I read other reviews waiting for my shipment. It comes with the pouring shield which it did not state. I purchased one and going to return today. I'm just sorry I didn't purchase years ago, it would have made my baking much easier.

I purchased 2 of these mixers, one from Kohls and one from Overstock, both in different colors....I actually found the one on overstock to be a lower price due to being "refurbished"...which means brand new! they are built like Mercedes and will outlive you. the one from Overstock arrived first and I liked the color (tangerine) goes well with my kitchen back splash. the other from Kohls was blue and kinda looked like a drilling device that you have in your garage on your work bench..lol, so I returned that one.

Only had chance to use mixer once, but performance is far better than other mixers. I went ahead and bought the 2 year replacement warranty from overstock because I didn't want any hiccups.Shipping took a little longer than expected, but hey, it was free. Overall great experience.

The mixer arrived as scheduled. When I opened it I was to see that it looked brand new, not a scratch on it. I have used the mixer 4 or 5 times now and it worked flawlessly. I made large batch of cannoli filling with it which is very dense and it mixer it completely in about 2 minutes. I also whipped cream with it and that was also a breeze. The price was great, saved at least $140 as compared to a new mixer. Wish I'd gotten it sooner.
What exactly can you use a food processor for? It can be confusing to know what you're supposed to do with all the different attachments. It seems simpler to just keep using your old blender to do whatever it is a food processor does. A food processor is so much more than just a mixer. When you use your food processor, you'll save time, kitchen space and dishes. Another perk to these food processors is the wide variety of colors and finishes available. Not only will you create amazing food; you'll also get the option of matching your food processor to your picture perfect kitchen. It may seem a bit intimidating at first to have so many options, but once you get to know your food processor, you'll find that it is more than just a vegetable chopper. Don't let your uncertainty keep you from investing in a quality food processor for your kitchen.
