I thought this looked like a remarkable piece for decorating-described as "blue mica". The shade I received was hot pink! Nothing blue about it. Hassling w/ a return now.Hope it works out better for others..

I purchased this lamp for my granddaughter who used it for less than a week and I was informed today that it no longer works.

Definately purple! Not very blue toned at all- more of the plum family, but looks great.- takes small base bulb like candelabra bulbs- detailing on base is great-love the slightly celtic look of it!

THE SHADE COLOR IS EXACTLY AS IT IS IN THE PICTURE. LAMP HAS A NICE WEIGHT AND DESIGN. IT IS A SOLID PIECE THAT WILL WORK WELL ON MY PORCH. IT EMITS A SOFT GLOW THAT HAS AN OLD FASHIONED QUALITY ABOUT IT, EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I AM PLEASED WITH THE PURCHASE BUT DID NOTICE THAT THE MICA ITSELF IS EXTREMELY THIN. THE BASE THOUGH AND THE REST OF THE SHADE ARE NICE ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY THE COST. DOES NOT TAKE REGULAR SIZED BULBS. IT FITS ONLY THE SMALL CHANDELIER BULBS.OVERALL VERY HAPPY FOR WHAT I'LL BE USING IT FOR. IT WILL DEFINITELY BE THE STAND OUT PIECE ON MY PORCH.
