Bought these counter stools to add to counter stools from pier1 that have backs.. wanted more seating, but not more bulk.. They look very good, as pictured, so therefore blend with what I already had. I was gone while my husband put them together, he had to drill holes, but otherwise went OK. I would say people who do not have drills or the know how would find this frustrating, otherwise, I am pleased with the purchase. Did take longer than usual for delivery, though.

They arrived very quickly and my husband found them easy to put together. They look expensive and go well with the plaid colors on my two other stools and kitchen chairs.

It took some doing, but finding these barstools finally put a happy ending to my search. They really are great looking and so much more comfortable than my previous, wood-seat barstools. The wood is beautifully finished (not a mar nor a scratch to be found) and is a great match for my walnut butcher block top and granite countertops. The fabric seems durable, and if I want to change it at some point, the construction of the tops will make that an easy enough project. Except for the lack of pilot holes in the legs where the stringers (footrests) are attached, the assembly was very simple. After drilling the pilot holes, though, they went together with very little effort. With the help of Overstock's excellent customer service, I am very pleased with this purchase. I have been looking for some nice counter stools for quite some time. Not wanting to spend a fortune - but at the same time - wanting quality, I just wasn't finding what I was looking for. I also needed the stools to match the style of my dining room table, as they would be located at the kitchen counter near the table. These stools are perfect! Of course I was nervous about ordering them and not really knowing how the wood finish and fabric seats would go with my table until they arrived, but - as I mentioned above - they are perfect! I am so pleased with these stools. The quality...the style...the comfort...the cost...everything! Putting the first stool together took a little extra time (just because it's the first one and I was trying to make sense of the instructions) but the last three (I purchased two sets) were a breeze. I am very picky and fussy when it comes to quality and style (just ask my husband!) and I highly recommend these stools. You won't be disappointed.

I checked out every furniture store within 100 miles for counter stools - no success. One night my husband and I sat down with a bottle of wine and did an internet search. Overstocked.com had the best selection at the best prices. The stools are perfect for our newly renovated kitchen in a John Wicks 1913 craftsman home. The stools are also perfect for our two year old granddaughter who insists on "doing it myself." She can easily climb up and down the stools. Thanks to the rating comments, we were prepared to drill the leg holes. This should have been done at the factory. It is my only complaint - thank goodness for a husband who is proficient with a drill!
